Destiny - Solo Aksis, Archon Prime Kill on Hunter in the Wrath of the Machine Raid. This is the world first kill for Hunter too! To note: In order to do this, it requires a glitch to prevent "Charge Lockout" from the cannons. Details are below - MOTW Voting Link Here for Titan! www.bungie.net...
First and foremost, FULL credit to JosecitoxTRG for discovering the initial part to the glitch on this. His video can be found here: • How to solo Aksis with... - he found the original glitch that you could prevent the lockout, but wasn't sure on the exact details on how it was caused. It was assumed it was like the no weapon glitch and had to get lucky with that. From there I actually discovered there was another way to do the glitch that was 100% consistent. Just simply spam drop/pickup your cannon enough, and once the SIVA Density Critical hits it will be glitched out. From there you're free to do the fight without worrying about cannon lockouts.
Doing the glitch does make for some weird things in this fight. Camera angles are awful, and Aksis' timing and empowerment handling gets a little muddled. Otherwise, it's pretty much just as you see! The other glitch I mentioned with no guns isn't completely ruled out either - it's entirely possible that there's 2 ways to glitch this. The way I was using here was just consistent!
You need to also do this within 4 damage phases, because the first round is setting up for the empowerment glitch.
Now, the above is all exactly the same as the Titan solo. However for Hunter, you have no additional damage buffs for cannons on your melee/greandes like Warlock/Titan do, so damage is significantly tighter. The biggest issue I found with Hunter was simply managing the glitch. I spent ages trying to do this where every single attempt I wouldn't get Empowerment in the third and forth rounds. I couldn't work it out for the longest time, Jose and I trying out many different things and completely stumped. It was basically the only thing stopping my runs. Tonight finally worked it out, if you don't pick up and drop the cannon an additional three times once the glitch is activated, Empowerment tends to bug out.
Once I finally worked that out, it took me about 1-2 hours of attempts to kill it. Had several round 4 wipes (10.7mill damage x2, 10.55mill damage and miss third slam), so it wasn't too bad once the glitch was found out. Practice from other solos definitely helped however.
Difficulty-wise on Aksis Solo's, I think that Hunter is by far the hardest and most demanding. For me from Hardest to Easiest: Hunter - Warlock 4 Phase - Titan - Warlock Regular.
That's about it! Pretty much completes all there is for Aksis challenges until 3 phase is possible next LL update. Currently Hard Mode is impossible due to enrage. If there's a way around that, great! But currently it's simply a hard-wipe, regardless if you survive or not.
This will likely be the last challenge I'll post until early March sorry! Gotta focus the next 2 weeks on packing and getting move sorted, after that have a few other challenges I'll be doing also :) Will continue to post the weekly Nightfall/Xur videos for the time being (along if there's any major updates found), but otherwise the next week and a half will likely be a little less on the challenge-front.
Thanks for watching, and any questions feel free to ask.
