Destiny2 OOB: The Shard of the Traveler (The Dark Forest)

We can now visit the three main areas in the Dark Forest :D Just need to get to Quarantine Sector 236 to complete the set...
This is of particular importance with Az-1's find of the strange room beyond the mysterious tractor beam out there. My guess is it bridges seasons or something. Who knows... With any luck, we'll make it there via in game means before it gets used. No name as of yet, so not coming before an update.

For the sword fly to the rez breach section of the shard of the traveler, I recommend climbing the rock formation, then dropping to do your sword fly as it will allow you to sword fly to the very top of the next area without even needing to use crash.

We've not found any way to go through the box barrier generally. You can ride a cabal drill through, but there isn't one in Dark Forest ;) For now you'll just have to Sync Box. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXfIpIZ6lqaMjtE Az1 got through with hacks.

thanks a lot for the in-depth tutorial. Is there any advice you can give for breaching into the second forest solo? I’ve successfully pulled off your code of the missile method thrice, but never managed to breach into the forest as I respawned in a previous space.

If you're trying solo, you need to die away from where you want to respawn, or you'll trigger the pity spawning mechanic and return to a previous area. The safest bet would be to code of the missile out of there as well, as walking out could set your spawn point outside of the pinch point.

Missile has zero ability to get past a pushback barrier unless there's a wall that you can Titan Slither on. You can't even go through a push back barrier going in the correct direction for it XD

That's cutting back to an earlier point in the video. I don't know how to get back out of most of the forest areas apart from backtracking via dying (and covering spawn with stasis currently) At various points you can choose to rez breach into one of the forest sections. I haven't really looked into breaking back out as that isn't needed. If you're just going for the end you'll want to skip over those bits.

Any way past the barrier at the end would be a REALLY big deal. Particularly if it can be done under those circumstances (no sparrow, no loadzone). We have never had a way out of the box without one of those, or a weird teleport deal. I might go there at some point if I get good at infinite flying. Galaxy Pools is a pretty cool place.

Barrier still there as of Season of the Chosen. We suspect it's been there since Forsaken, but I don't think anyone managed it before last season to check. The cube map has been in since Forsaken at least.

Yeah, I helped a guy do that yesterday on the RaidSecrets discord. You definitely want to use the missile method. Walk around for a bit on the shelf after you land. Hopefully you'll have a spawn point for if you fail. Then jump out with catapult towards the little log by the pinch point. You can jump off of the log of you do so immediately, touching it only long enough to jump. Then line up for a code of the missile into the pinch spot. You should hit and stay right at it. Chill there for a bit, then leave in the air without touching any other ground ideally. If you wanna be extra paranoid, you can wait to missile out. A sword swing can help too. Normal jump may be enough. Just make sure you hit no ground, and fall to your death a ways away from where you hopefully set your spawn. You should respawn right above, though you may need to jump a few times to be fully above.

@@blankblank5001 Sorry, I missed the part where you said second forest. I had been talking about the one at like 8:32 to get into the shard area. For the second forest, the area I started from was a bit around to the right of where you first arrive. I went there because I wanted to start from farther away. You can missile into the spot roughly like I did, and then leave and jump off the edge as far out as you can jump from there. If you respawn and don't get through, die in place to reset to your previous spawn and try again. I dunno if you can get that one as reliably as the one for the shard, but should be doable. The only difference between a solo respawn breach and a multiperson rez breach is solo takes a tad more setup, and risks your spawn point.

I only ever glitched into the first section of the Dark Forest back in 2017 with the same res glitch, but it was by accident and I was never able to replicate it. I died with my ghost through the ground and when I respawned I respawned in the ground. I was also never able to convince Astral to come out of map with me to revive me instead as it takes two dawnblade supers. Three if you want to play safe. The video is terrible of me inside the first section as I was sixteen with a terrible microphone, but never got back in there sadly.

Warlock can probably get to the second forest. I'm not sure about the shard, but I'd doubt it. Hunter can probably get to the first forest and all around it, but I'd be surprised if hunters could get to the second one.

@@serenityvfx409 You can if you want to, but that's its own destination. You'll need to die to backtrack out of it if you go in, and hope you get a convenient rez outside without losing too much ground. If you're just going for the shard, you can skip from to 4:36 to 6:42. I've learned more about sword flying since making this video, so you should start from higher up when crossing the second forest. You still drop to the same height, but starting higher up raises the catapult lift ceiling, allowing you to sword fly up to the shelf without using code of the missile.

You can solo it, you.just need to die a ways away from where you set your rez, and it's far riskier, since if you don't have the spawn set you may find yourself back at the second forest.

The issue is that the tractor beam is being blocked by the box, a collection of very thick push barriers that surround the intended playable space. Currently there are no known methods to bypass that. You would need either an incredibly long push effect, or a teleport. We used to be able to use the Quantum Finisher glitch to get out of the box, but that requires enemies, and was patched a while back.

There are two possible candidates for breaking the box I'm aware of. One is Barrier Surfing. That can break the box in D1, but has not yet been shown to be able to do the same in D2. The other is Titan Slithering, which would require very specific map geometry, and a relatively thin box.

Some of them are. With considerable effort you could probably get a hunter through a good fraction of the first forest, given how many areas you can stand. Getting past the first area would be a real challenge though. A warlock could probably get to the second forest area, though I'm less optimistic about the shard section...

I've tried and tried to get to the shard but I finally figured out that I am a exo Hunter and on another KZbin video there is another player that went into The Shard of The Traveler and he discovered a secret Galaxy with four pillars and a platform and in the center of the pillars what is a pool of water and it had a perfect view of the secret Galaxy and he was in The Traveler The Shard transported him into the traveler

I think only the subclass missions went to some of those areas, and you couldn't ever replay those :( Well, also the Dark Alliance mission went to at least a few of em. Which you also couldn't really replay.

If it's being used purely to look at the maps, I view it as basically data mining. The data mining folks are generally a bit more restrained in sharing stuff early though. At this point they basically have full views of all the maps, so it'd be basically impossible to hide areas in the game. Using cheats in PvE to explore isn't that far off from what they can do. I think the game would be better off if such cheats didn't exist, but am afraid too much in game detection of that would end up flagging people doing 'normal' in game stuff. Especially when nonsense like the Quantum Finisher happens, or anything else that lets you do "clearly impossible" stuff. Naturally people doing that stuff in PvP are the worst, actively causing others harm. For PvE content, I'd definitely prefer people not, and have a low opinion of people doing it. I openly admit to using cheeses for things though. For pure map exploration, it's more of a gray area to me. I can at least appreciate that Az-1 is up front about it, even though I worry that it may end up encouraging others to do it.

It's pretty common to cull surfaces that aren't supposed to be visible. Cuts down on extra work. When you're outside of the map, none of that is designed around you, so it's common for stuff to just flash in and out of existence XD

Catapult lift is amazing, particularly with Lion Rampant. The begining of the jump gives a strong upwards burst, and the jump recharges in the air. That means you can infinitely repeat the initial burst if you can delay your fall for a bit, which you can do by swinging your sword.

How did you get your sword ammo again?

Probably different clips, but currently you can generate sword ammo as long as you have like 5 or so by swapping from jagged edge to enduring blade while dead. Generates more ammo the higher ammo you have. At low ammo you'll get 1 or 2 each time. At 60 ammo you'll get 10.
