"I've made a whole bunch of engines before but this time I wanna try making my own" guys Reid has confirmed that Reid is not Reid, because Reid(who is not Reid(who is Reid)) made engines that Reid did not, as Reid (not Reid who is not Reid) claimed to have not made any, so this leaves us with the question: who is Reid (not Reid but Reid) and why did Reid (real) give Reid (who is not Reid (real)) permission to post Reid content made by Reid (not Reid) on Reid's Reid channel for Reid (not Reid who is not Reid) to post Reid videos to?

The issue with that always comes down to stability. It might be possible to just put spinners on top to push it down when accelerating. Looking at how this guy designs a tank engine, he would probably put several gear sets in that can move at different speeds to accelerate like shifting gears, which would greatly decrease its top speed from the weight of it all. Also put spinners in front and behind for maximum push.

The concept of this game is really good, but the gears are too glitchy for my taste... When it comes to physics sandboxes i didn't see any real improvements over the years... Gears in half life 2 would probably work just as good.

I love this build, though i feel like the track performance could have been improved by only keeping the sprocket (driven gear) and idler (non-driven gear) wheels, and replaced the middle one with either one big normal wheel or a smaller handful of normal wheels. In doing so you would lessen the number of places teeth are directly engaging with the track, creating less points for binding up and providing a smoother ride, in theory. Definite major bonus points for track tensioning the tried and true tanker way: just push out the idler wheel until the track is correctly tensioned. Always love seeing the chaos of a new build. Cheers.

Humans have tried inventing an armored all-terrain vehicle for many hundreds of years with limited success only to finally nail it down in the turn of the 20th century because this is what it takes to make an engine with treads capable of carrying a large cannon and armor plating. It's a very tedious engineering science to figure out and learn and perfect because of the insane logistics that go into each and every gear, piston, drive shaft, motor, etc. It's so many complicated parts coming together and working together just to accomplish the goal of a large bulletproof vehicle that shoots a massive projectile, and that's just by itself, god forbid another tank shoots those treads or some soldier jams a pipe or grenade right in there and screws up soooooo much work. The engineering that goes into such monster vehicles is absolutely precious art, you did an amazing job building this by yourself all historical and scientific things considered

I think you could get away with a front gear drive if you added a front gear that doesn't touch the ground, so it wouldn't push the track on the ground. The piston solution is actually a real thing in some tanks. I think that's all I can think of from my experience with tanks (I was the gunner so I don't have a lot more knowledge about this part of the tank). Loved the engine btw, beautiful!
