You could also always tint the resin a pretty color that matches the petals original color to bring some color back into the ones that lost some!

That’d also help since resin will tint yellow over time, so a small amount of blue/purple can often added be added :)

You should try dyed orchids for this. The first ones you got looked like they might have been dyed. Even fully dried the dyed ones will probably stay more vibrant than natural color. I love these! You could also try balsam flowers or snapdragons which look like tiny orchids and come in very pretty colors and are super easy to grow!

I feel like the hole needs a little resin coating to prevent moisture from seeping back in. I've seen a lot of resin projects go wrong when it's not fully sealed.

I have no knowledge about this, it's just a thought in the air, I think maybe this is the issue with oxidation... when you make the hole for the earring, you expose the petal to oxidation due to contact with the air. You should drill a hole a little larger, seal it with the resin and cure it, and then drill the hole a little smaller. Maybe you can try using stabilized/preserved flowers, or make them at home. This type of preparation keep flowers bright and vibrant in color, but idk how they will react to resin

After drilling the hole you should resin the area and inside the hole just in case the drilling cased any weakness sonce they're thin. I mean might as well try to get them to last as long as possible. I doibt they'd ever be out of "fashion" they're beautiful.

You can save a lot of money, don’t buy that expensive silica for flower drying. There is silica cat litter I bought that. Put it in a bag with your mask on and smash it into smaller pieces. Works great to dry flowers! Hope you have resin with anti UV in it otherwise your beautiful creations will turn yellow very quickly

Everyone is saying to add more resin to the hole after you drill it, after applying resin to both sides, but I think for next time it would be more efficient and less likely to completely fill the hole to drill the hole after coating one side, then cover the hole with resin, cure, then do the other side

You should make something with lavender
