Denzel is a marvel to me. He seems to be one of the most well rounded, successful and grounded people, content, good family man, in touch with and true to himself but still pro level at playing the game, managing navigating the world and achieving the life he wants, great sense of humor, spiritual, humble... I mean, the man seems to KNOW how to live life. He seems like someone that anyone would be blessed to be able to be close to and learn from. The thing about Denzel isn't really that he's attractive or that he's great at his craft, it's that he's Denzel, he's living life on another level and is just so damn respectable.

Man I just got a whole new perspective on Mr. Washington because of this interview. Being born and raised in the bronx, and hearing him call White Castle murder burgers 😂🤣😂 was refreshing and shows a lot things in the X never change. Also he played Malcolm X and they both lived in Mt. V. Life comes full circle.

I've been following Denzel Washington since St. Elsewhere days. I'm an actor mainly because of him (though it was in me as a kid). This was probably one of the BEST interviews I've ever seen with him!!! Throughout this who segment, I felt the human side of him. And it was great to see how he knows how to not let the stardom get to his head. I plan on watching this again because it felt as if I was there with you all, just hangin' out in the bodega. LOL HUGE CREDIT TO DESUS AND MERO for your style, being so laid back but being incredibly respectful and humble with who you have in your presence. You're great representatives for New York and I hope people know that and are proud of you. PROPS PROPS PROPS! Damn, this was fantastic!!!!

I’m all late to this and heard about this clip from Seth Meyers on the Strike Force Five podcast as this being one of his favorite talk show clips. But this interview gave me life!!! Being 53 and having grown up in the Boogie Down, first, I remember as a kid when pizza slices were 50 cents and seemed like the prices went up when the bus/train fare increased cuz the prices were on par with each other ; but taking the 2 train (225th st) and the 41 bus on the regular; having my aunt live on Baychester & Pitman not far from the 241st st stop; having a brother who went to Mt St Michael (graduated in 80) + I attended summer school there in 1985 (I always thought Mundy Lane was a funny street name); my dad moved to Mt Vernon in 1980 after my parents split & going to the Y up there to swim among other things; having gone to Mt St Ursula HS, the sister school to Fordham Prep which was on Fordham University’s campus & just everything they talked about -- I just enjoyed this thoroughly! ❤❤❤And I remember Sanford Ave in Mt Vernon wayyy before Target and all those stores popped up so I hear ya Denzel. 😂 AND YES! LA traffic (where I live now) is horrible but so is the Cross Bronx (still) and the Deegan during a Yankee game or before the GWB. I also lived in DC for 9 years and that Beltway traffic 😵😵- but I-95 just be crazy like that anyway thru VA, DC, MD, NJ & NY. Ok let me stop now with this personal memory lane trip 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣
