Sirji, along with High tech and professional Army, if you really want reduce the size of Armed Forces, train young Citizens via NCC. Very few people know that NCC ( National Cadet Corps) is a 2nd Line Defence along with the Armed Forces. If NCC B certicate would become compulsory in school/college and NCC C certificate duration would increase in college, almost every citizen in India would be battle ready no matter where and in which sector are they employed. Take the example of China only. Who were the soldiers actually in Galwan in 2020? Most of them were university soldiers which is equivalent to NCC! China haven't reduced their army. They just redistributed it so that their Actual Army(PLA) would concentrate only on High Tech and futuristic War. India is already lagging behind. Make NCC compulsory. Cost to Pension and unnecessary expenses would also get reduced as NCC activities need only running cost.Jai Hind🇮🇳
