It’s really hard to say. Someone starting out with a detailing side business really needs to focus on the basics, especially when on a budget. If you are literally starting from scratch, I would put the majority of my funds into the essential tools - pressure washer, shop vac, DA polisher, portable extractor, and brushes/cloths. After that, a bulk wash soap (PH neutral, no wax/adders), concentrated degreaser, concentrated acid wheel cleaner, glass cleaner, clay bar. Then a medium compound (has cut but can still finish down in one step) and pads (lake country CCS gets the job done, a couple buff and shine microfiber pads for extra strength) an AIO polish (one with some cut but also wax) and pads, a ONR for clay lube touch ups and waterless washing, and a paste wax or liquid sealant. I wouldn’t bother with flashy spray coatings or ceramics or anything along those lines, when you’re cleaning cars for non-car detailing enthusiasts, they won’t notice the slight difference in hydrophobic performance and they will be a poor cost to use ratio.

I am about to drop 2 grand into detailing supplies to start a business. Anything you would suggest as a must have to start out detailing?

Interesting video, thanks. Just a side note (curiosity sake) I wonder if Nu Finish and Armor All have any brand relationship? The bottle of Nu Finish graphine spray you test here looks identical to the equivalent Armor All product, except different label. What I experienced with the Armor All sounds similar to your experience, a little grabby to apply, not super slick, but very hydrophobic and seems to be less attractive for dust sticking. Anyway, great video, thanks much for sharing. 🙂

@@corinnelaking569yes they do. Nu finish and armour all, as well as eagle one, scratch doctor and lexol are all owned by energizer.
