By far the best and most comprehensive video I’ve seen on KZbin covering these calculations. Thanks so much for all your help, and keep up the excellent work making these videos!

Just a quick question, if I wanted to perform this lab, should i use 1M HCl solution or 2M HCl solution for the reactions of Mg and MgO. I am confused. Please also let me know how this makes a difference in the experiment?

It shouldn’t matter as long as Mg is LR and you know how much HCl in amount is being used. The temperature change will adjust based on the amount (volume of HCl) used. You however need to be consistent with all the volume of HCl used. You should however be able to use 1M HCl and be okay with everything.
