On 4th September 2017, ADR filed the petition challenging the Finance Act, 2017-Electoral Bonds and Removal of the Company's Limit to Donate- in the Supreme Court. ADR was the first and leading petitioner.
On 15th February 2024, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of India gave a landmark judgment holding the anonymous, unregulated and unlimited funding through electoral bonds and companies as unconstitutional.
