I'm just about to have fairly serious back surgery. Have just received my first pair of Xpand laces which will come in very handy as I won't be able to bend at the waist following the surgery. Road and Trail tested and approved! I put them to the test today on a combo run. They felt great from the start and I didn't feel any change in the tension. I also put them on a pair of casual shoes and they are now my "go-to" shoes. So easy to slip on! Love these laces.

You don't even know how happy I am when this came in the mail. My little guy hates tying his laces and this is the best. I ordered 3, because my daughter ruins her shoes all the time, not untying to put her feet in. So all the back of her shoes are all ruined. This is definitely the best one I've ever bought. I will be getting more.

I am so excited about these! When my so was two he had brain cancer leaving he with little use of his left hand. I personally liked the their video (the preview at the end of this video) that shows the "bar" lacing method. Definitely more roomy and comfortable. I'd recommend that style if you're wearing casually (ie, not for running, hiking).

I love these for my 10 year old's soccer boots. Even though he can tie shoes it can interrupt game play for the 5 minutes it takes him to triple knot. Well done Xpand, creating more play time for athletes.

Never heard so many people asking the same questions over and over and over. Watch the video and pay attention ! The best thing about these laces is their so easy to use. For all u entitled youth, go up the basement steps and have your mommy put these on for you. That's the problem with the youth today , they don't listen. This is unbelievable. Just put one of my pairs on my every day sneakers. One in cross pattern and one in bars, just to see how they each feel :) Then later, once I have used them a bit, I can decide what to do. Seems that in the bar pattern, I only use about half the lace, so there is for an extra pair :)

I love this video. One of the best. However, I have a question. You mention that once done, it's done. Hi, these are great! I want to install them for my mum, who usually wears slip ons. I'm facing an issue and hope you can help - the tongue keeps rolling on the sides, no matter how much slack is on the laces. Is this an issue with the shoe itself, since the tongue is really thin? What can I do to make it more comfy for her?

With over 150k units ordered from Kickstarter alone and way to much room for people to cut the laces short or not install the product correctly and have an unsatisfied fit, we had to have a video that explains everything in detail. This was sent to every single backers email. Our short version installation video will come out as we get feedback from backers and fine tune what details we feel are needed in the instructions. This detailed video is a courtesy and insurance all in one. This is not a marketing video just to be clear. I understand your time is valuable and if you can't spend 10 minutes to watch a video. Simply follow the "summary version" on the back of the package.

I always use shoe trees to keep my shoes in a good condition but I can imagine it might not be good for the xpand lacing system since in that case the laces are always flexed. What I don’t understand is how did you lace your shoes so that the top laces are on the inside with the second shoe, when you laced it so that the top laces were on the outside with the first, when you began the laces exactly the same position at the bottom of each shoe? My laces end up on the outside of my 4-eyelet sneakers. I want them to be “stealth mode”. How is it possible?

So I bought multiple colors of the laces with the intent to be able to switch them out. How do I change them out once I trim them and no longer have the aglet tip to easily lace them through small holes?

You can trim and singe them at an angle or you can use a little piece of scotch tape and roll around the ends to feed through the new eyelets :)

+David Sánchez I think it depends a lot on the shoes, as well as the pattern. I used bar pattern on my sneakers, and that uses about half the lace, so there is a for an extra pair. When I use the cross pattern, then I won't have enough for another shoe. But some shoes use less lace I guess, so for those it might work for two, even with cross pattern.
