hi Tracy, i noticed you said that the fish aren't eating during winter and i was wondering if there a way to heat the water for them using a DIY solar water heater for example cause I have an aquaponic small system myself here in Egypt and soon the temperature will drop but i don't want to stop feeding the fish for 2 reasons the first i want to have them put more weight and the second is to have the crops growing. any advice will be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the vid, very interesting. Can I ask why does the out from the ibc fish tank come from the top at the water level and not the bottom where I assume (perhaps wrongly) there would be most solids? Thanks.

The swirl filter is to have clean water flowing out. The solids sink to the bottom and I remove that manually about every 2-3 weeks

This is not built correctly. It's too large for the flow.

"too large for the flow" that would be for a radial flow - swirls can be as large as you want as long as it swirls. Large commercial ones have some way larger than this in comparison to the tanks. Just curious way are you saying it is to large?

Tracy Holz There's no swirl at all, it's at best a settling tank.

Maybe it was not on camera but it swirled a lot. I should have put sometime in so you could see the swirl. Plus I do not want a LOT of swirl I wanted stuff to settle.
