the thing that ticks me off the most about the Wera color coding system is that they don't use the same colors legend between their sockets/wrenches and their hex socket/L-keys. I have all of the socket/wrench colors memorized, I immediately know to grab a pink for 8mm and yellow for 10mm, but in their hex sockets/L-keys, 8mm is magenta and 10mm is blue. I find this absurd, having to memorize two different color legends...

@@bzeug Yep, they only show up in special edition sets. I've never seen one in a regular set.

Could you recommend a good bit holder for those long Vario double sided bits? I was thinking of adapting a Gedore SilentGear 2675, cut the shaft shorter and use some extra long bits with it for recessed screws. The Wera Vario sets are perfect for this because they are double sided, but also more difficult to hold...

Yes! That is a great set. I can’t find any Wera 4mm bits though. Maybe they will start selling them.

​@@jdl3408wera has strangely neglected the 4mm bit market, aside from perhaps a total of 8 or so different bits available in various seasonal sets (the Wacken 1 set also includes some). I imagine it's because they do a much higher end micro bit system with HIOS and half-moon bits.

I would like them to sell 4mm as a normal thing. The half moon is a bit too proprietary for my taste.

If you are actually interested in 4mm bits as a user, Wiha has a very complete selection of Phillips, slotted and Torx bits - probably some others, too, though I’m not sure. I would put Wiha bits in the same quality category as Wera.

Got mine on order, thanks. I want that 4mm driver! Request: the 4mm bit holder reminds me of the Wera half-moon bits and bit holders. If you have any experience or opinions on the half-moon system, I’d love to see a video on that.

What is you opinion of value for this one? I have 2017 thru this year and I think this one has the worst value so far. Not a fan of them choosing white this year because I use all my sets but I will worry about this one looking bad immediately.

the vario handle 80 is for 6 mm blades, anyone seen an adapter to 1/4 inch drive hex bits?

Wera is pronounced “Vehr-uh” to rhyme with “there - uh.” Wiha is pronounced “Vee-hah.” It is the letters W and H pronounced in German. Shouldn’t there be a 6mm to 1/4 adapter included?

Does your other set of colour coded metric hex keys fit in the corresponding holes on the hex key holder, if you wanted to swap out the advent calendar keys later? 9:23

Ifixit sells a JIS #000 micro bit that should fit this or a wiha holder. Wera sells JIS bits but not in #000.

My advent set blades fit my wera vario handle and my vario blade fits my advent handle.

They were in the 2017 advent. It’s a good set but I’ve never been able to find more Wera 4mm bits.

I think this years advent calendar is overpriced and they dont really give you much compared to previois years. I think i will skip it this year .
