The shifter pedal has an adjustable linkage, you can position the shifter to any position you require, I also have a 2018 model 500x, had the same problem until I did the adjustment, very simple to do!
@lonememe Жыл бұрын
I said the same thing when I got to that part. I was like "oh no...he didn't know you can just move the shift pedal up and down". RIP. I still hate the standard pegs anyway, so I replaced those rubber ones with some nice cleated ones.

Thank you Joh ! . Thank you for explaining it all in laymen terms like you did . I am on my second CB500X . It has the Rally Raid wheel and suspension package which really changes this bike ....totally . Both of my CB's have the original factory windshield . Yes , the buffeting is a known issue with the CB's . The fix for this ended up being the small windscreen added to the top of my windshield made by Puig . I don't really understand why it works so well but for me ( 6 ' tall ) it has to totally eliminated the buffeting ....100% . Its hard to believe but it is true .

Hi. For my 2018 CB500x I bought a pair of Alpinestar Corozal ADV boots, larger than yours. All I did was shorten the adjustable link rod between the shifter lever and the gearbox by 15mm and it worked great. Love what you have done to the bike. Look forward to the trip.

Great review mate, a lot of people say these are beginner bikes but I’m not sure what that really means? I’ve got a 2020 model and have had a Africa twin 2017. Both great bikes. The Africa twin was faster and had better suspension but that’s about it. All bikes are a compromise somewhere. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

I really like your videos. I do have a question. How do you find driving on gravel roads with the 17 front wheel? I was set on getting a 2022 with the 19 inch front wheel but found a good deal on a 2017 and plan to do 60 % pavement and 40 gravel road
@AnthonyJoh3 ай бұрын
I haven't done enough off roading to give you an accurate assessment of each tire but I will say that over washboards the 21inch wheel is a lot smoother than the 17inch one. If you watch my Oregon video where I road the Alvord Dessert my bike was literally being shaken apart by the washboards but on the Tiger it's been much smoother.

That Canadian import tax duties on ordering things via mail is so ridiculous. I used to live on the US/Canadian border, and you won’t believe how many Canadians have a private Postal Box to order things on Amazon etc, to avoid duties. They drive across the border, pick up the packages, and drive it home across the border without claiming it. The also by milk and gas while they are in America. It’s worth it if you are close to the border. 👌🏻🇺🇸

In case anyone else thinks that limiting your choice of boots is necessary in order to get under the gear shift lever - there are two barrel nuts on the shifter linkage, with opposite hand thread. Using those barrel nuts, you can make the shifter linkage shorter or longer, thereby raising or lowering the shifter
