I flew to London to Toronto on BOAG in October 2003 just before the end of all Concorde flights . I sat in seat 25D right by the engines . Was amazing. My girlfriend went by B747 , I remember I walked her to her plane then had to wait an hour for mine then I had to wait 3.5 hours in Toronto for her to arrive!

Watched your Concorde land @YYZ that afternoon, then attended BA’s reception that evening…revisiting BOAG as I had flown her to/from LHR the year before. Paid another visit to her a few years later in Seattle.

That’s great, it was an amazing day, I was at the reception in the hangar for a little while but had to get back to the terminal to meet my girlfriend from the B747 she flew on . We went back to the airport fence next day to watch BOAG take off and we were waiting with hundreds of people but it took off from the other runway. We still saw it though but sadly not as low/loud as we could have . One day I will get to Seattle to visit her. I sat in seat 25D but I think you can’t get that far back as it’s screened off. Be nice to sit in my seat again.

@@simonwinn387 Across the Atlantic was in front cabin one way sitting in front of Sir Peter Hall, theatre artistic director. Back was midway in the rear cabin two rows back from Barbara Walters and across the aisle from Michael Jackson (who covered himself with a blanket through the whole flight!) and in front of his two burley “Jersey Mafioso” body guards who were each carrying a shopping bag from the Disney store! Since my Seattle visit they’ve moved BOAG into an enclosed building. She was in the open for a few years next to a TCA SuperConstellation.

I flew Concorde in 1992. Yes the interior was very small compared to a then 767 but you didn't really notice with only 100 passengers. No IFE either but you were being plied with booze and food. Take off was very noisy but incredible acceleration. Supersonic transition was two big shoves in the back as they lit the afterburners on the outside and then the inside. Very stable in flight but windows were quite hot to the touch. An incredible experience which is gone now☹️

@@underneonloneliness2 Concorde cruised at over 1300mph, faster than a rifle bullet (hard to believe when you stand next to Concorde) the Friction caused by the plane tearing through the air at that speed is what caused the heat and actually caused the aircraft to expand considerably.

I was lucky flew this great bird 5 times , will never forget, what a trip to new York and London. Being flung in your seat on take off was great, that roar on landing is out of this world, R.I.P Concorde, we will never forget you.

When I got my first job way back when, I had enough money to do a concord trip to the US. Eventually I thought of more practical uses for that money and after it stopped flying I’ve always regretted not doing it. Since then I’ve spent my money on travel and the pleasure of seeing the amazing world we live in (including getting married in Sydney). Great video and thanks for all the technical info, really interesting, the folks that planned it did a good job!

When I worked at Heathrow years ago I remember being in a deserted hangar with a Concorde, just walking around it in complete silence was a treat, the thing looked like it was going a thousand miles per hour just sitting still!

Was the G-BOAB? The one that didn't have any seats in and loads of old BA magazines as balast? They never upgraded AA and AB, but AB is still at Heathrow to this day if I remember correctly?

Two things I found out while taking a tour of the Concorde in NY. On the last flight of the Concorde, the flight engineer would put his hat between the bulkhead and the engineers panel, remember as mentioned, the Concorde would expand as much as 12”. When it landed, the d hat would be crushed in between and would become a permanent home, also the pilots signed their aircraft since you where assigned that specific aircraft for as long as you flew Concorde.

I flew BOAG ( 3A ) from JFK to LHR BA2 back in Feb 2003. That was the last time I was blessed to fly supersonically which is why I remember the reg. I flew number of times during the 90's through to 2003 across the 'pond' by Concorde. I actually cried watching the final dep/arrivals on the day the service was suspended.

I bought my mum and dad a flight on a charter Concorde flight as a birthday gift. They loved it and got so tipsy on the flowing champagne that they couldn't drive home for several hours! I've had the pleasure of touring the first prototype aircraft at Brooklands in England and the first production model in Toulouse, plus the 2nd one there which is on static exterior display. Beautiful aircraft. Simply stunning, and so clever, particularly given the basic technology of the time. Thanks for bringing this walk through to us.

In 1986, I attended a 3-day work conference held at Doral Country Club. While relaxing at the pool, I got to see Concorde at fairly low altitude making its landing approach into Miami. Even with its engines at “idle” that aircraft was LOUD!.

Great video! Flew Concord from JFK in 1984. On take off from JFK we could not go supersonic because of a fuel door problem and had to dump our fuel return to JFK. They tried to repair the door on landing and we took off again, same story dump the fuel and back to JFK. On landing it was determined that the fuel door could be repaired in London. Most passenger go off and flew first class on a 747. I and a few people elected to stay on board and fly subsonic to London. Flight took about 9 hours. No movies or in flight entertainment but the pilot Let each of us passenger sit on the jump seat in the cockpit for about an hour. This pilot holds the record for both the fastest and slowest trip between NY and London.

I missed out on the design and production phases of Concorde, but I did do some work on investigations on various component/systems failures in the 80's and subsequently. An amazing aircraft given what the general "state of the art" was at the time. It would be interesting to see what would result from an exercise to repeat the design with modern materials and processes.

I was walking into Heathrow when the last Concorde flight to the U.S. lifted off. Unbelievably loud! More like a military jet than a commercial one. Great vid and thank you!

What a fantastic aircraft - for any of her faults, she was certainly beautiful, and always a delight to see flying. You'll have to come to Manchester, UK - the Concorde on display near the airport here can be toured, including sitting in the seats (and I think flight deck tours can be available as well). It's certainly on my list, but as always one never gets round to seeing the local attractions!

Similarly, the one at Filton can be toured. For years it sat on the Airbus/BAE site in the open (tours available for much of that time) before being moved to the new Aerospace museum, and the end wall being built behind the tail once in place. I don't think you can sit in the seats on the actual aircraft, but on my last visit they had a set of seats in another area that you could sneak into. It was an emotional day when she flew into Filton for the final time - luckily I was able to get some good photos of the occasion.

Although I never flew in Concorde, I have been in 3 thanks to a family friend working at Heathrow back in the 80's. One was being stripped out for maintenance where you realise how small the cabin area is. The best part was sitting in the captain's seat of another whilst the engines were being tested, followed by getting to put the nose up and down before being taxied back into the hanger.

Great video Paul - the only class was in fact Supersonic Class not First. Although relatively small the seats were supremely comfortable and the irony of my flights was that I wanted them to last longer, defeating Concorde’s whole purpose, as it was such a fantastic experience! One of the absolute best highlights of my life! Fantastic to see BOAG is such great & well looked after condition !

The first time I walked around Udvar Hazy I was a little amazed at how small these aircraft are. When you see them on TV they look so huge. I haven't been there since 2012 but I don't think that it's changed much.

I remember when I was around 9or10yrs old in the mid 1980s I was at my Dads work one day in marickville/sydenham in Sydney, which is directly under the final approach flight path. I was used to the noise of the planes till this one day, I heard a plane like I've never heard before. I'll never forget looking up at Concorde roaring over my head

Perfect video tour. My parents (RIP) had the opportunity to fly once on the Concord. I kept the tickets and the inflight brochure / menu they brought back from the trip, still have them. My father loved planes so it was a great experience for him to fly on the Concord.

If you want to get a better look at the flight deck, unless they also decided to close off the cockpit adn galleys on it since I was there man moons ago, Concorde G-BOAC still resides at the Concorde heritage site at Manchester Airport, GB. I'd highly recommend it if anyone wants to see another really nice example of a Concorde :)

I definitely felt emotional when Concorde was canned. An unfulfilled ambition! Iconic. Curiously I felt similarly at the canning of Space Shuttle so it’s not just a Brit thing. I happened to be in Florida a few months before the last ever flight and visited the Kennedy Space Centre and saw the last shuttle on the launch pad - it’s there for weeks being prepared. I had a lump in my throat then too.

A beautifully designed plane and a credit to the French engineers and technicians who made it possible. The British also contributed but they were restricted due to the country being in recession and overspending on the project which meant they had to rely on the superior expertise and financial support of France, Vive la France!

Geez , that 13:48mins of the video went quick , almost Concordesq I’d say 😀. Great informative video Paul , I never tire of viewing anything relating to Concorde . I never had the privilege of flying her , but saw her many times in service with both BA and AF, and even witnessed her sonic boom on one occasion . Civil aviation took a massive backward step the day she retired . Cheers mate and continue to have a great trip .

A long time ago my family flew to Majorca in the latest model of this fine machine. My youngest daughter was entranced by the toilet which had a sink that folded up against the wall. She wanted to go every ten minutes but no one seemed to mind. The aircraft was a terrific design that deserved far better than it got.

Great video. Yes, the museum is located right around the corner from Raisbeck Aviation School in South Seattle. I never flew Concorde but my Dad did... loved it. I wish we had more advanced jet planes... seems tragic how everything ended shortly after the Air France disaster. The history of the Concorde is unlike any other program! Cheers!

It looks in great condition, given how long its been retired/grounded. It must be still in flyable one would imagine. I lived in London in the late 90's and you could pretty much set your clock to its arrival time... beautiful sight seeing it fly over London and it was so loud it rumbled the windows.

My dad went on one of the publicity flights in the early 70s, he said It was tiny but an incredible experience. I do love it, it was remarkable in every way. Such a shame it was too expensive to live.

Lovely video. Thank you so much for your effort in documenting BOAG in early 2022, Paul. Very happy to see her looking so 'polished' on the exterior. BOAC in Manchester was very 'dusty' when I last visited her, which disappointed me somewhat. Does that make me sad? The best thing about BOAC is her intact engines, which I encourage all fans to see, if they get the chance. It adds an itensity to the connection you feel when you see the aircraft. I intend to visit as many of the fleet as I can/am allowed to (including Alpha Golf), as they are all unique in Concorde's history. Thanks, again.

My mother was senior BA cabin crew in the 80's - 90's & tried out for Concorde crew, but at 178cm she was too tall. I did get to see the last ever flight of Concorde as it paraded over London. It's a shame they didn't keep one running for airshows.

Great video!! Just subscribed. I grew up in MX city and the apartment tower where I lived was directly below the landing path, about 10-15 NM from the airport, so it was really low. My best friend and I figured out its schedule and would go to the roof to see if fly over. This must have been early to mid 80's. It was a very loud plane for sure. The engine sound was noticeable way before the plane would come into view.

Concorde is a beautiful airplane. I got to see the other two air frames that are in the States: an Air France example in the Smithsonian's Dulles facility and the British Airways one parked next to the Intrepid in NYC. I got to tour the inside of the latter, including sitting in the FO's seat (no plexiglass on that one, just slip covers on the seats). Three things struck me about the cockpit: 1) it's tiny, too small to stand upright, 2) the pilots' view must have been amazing, 3) everything looked analog, almost no screens whatsoever. Our tour guide explained that after no more orders were received, there was little incentive to update the avionics (same reason as why the "B" model was cancelled). Another wonderful video. Always enjoyed watching theses aircraft take off and land. Here’s a thought, maybe you could do one of your in depth tours of a BAC 1-11. I have a deep love for that aircraft as I flew a corporate one eleven for several years.

I thought I knew a lot about the Concorde but I didn’t know about the planes for a non afterburner engine variant. Thanks paul. Also I think a couple of audio glitches in the video but nothing to worry about. Still very good!
