You're missing the stove from Boreal Outdoor Innovations. Stainless steel stove that is made in Canada.

You won't be disappointed with that pairing. The up 5 is extremely efficient. I prefer my bigger stove for that setup, but only because the tent is so heavy that it can only work car camping so you might as well have the bigger stove for the benefits it provides. But the winnerwell is excellent too so great setup.

Thanks for going through the different type of stoves. The folding stoves also come in thicker titanium and stainless steel. It is nice to fold up a stove or put one together to save space. It is about what you are doing. If you are planning on staying in one place a week at a time and plan on eating off the land. A stove is not even a question!!!!
@AbundantAdventures
@AbundantAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think I mention pomoly foldable stoves in the video. I'd recommend them over the wild wild west stove. They had thicker titanium and foldable design so you don't have to worry about losing parts in the field.

@@AbundantAdventures it is also easier to replace a screw and bolt. If one of them locking tabs break it is not going to be the end of the world. It will not be easy to replace.
@AbundantAdventures

@@lamarwilliams185 good point! Not sure how likely the tabs are to break. I think I could still repair it but I don't have the stove so I can't be sure of that.

I have the Winnerwell Nomad large and really love it. Heavy but great for snowmobile or even pulk winter camping. The glass on the front and sides are so great. Also have the Luxe titanium 3W which is also great for backpacking. I use a spark arrestor on top of the roll up chimney which I can use wire to support outside so the chimney doesn’t move around it it gets windy.
@AbundantAdventures
@AbundantAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yeah the 3W spark arrester setup it comes with gets clogged super easy so I think the arrester on top would help a ton. I use key chain rings to tie down the chimney but I'm sure the spark arrester up top works just as good for tie outs.

@@AbundantAdventures I bought a small spark arrestor, think it’s from Winnerwell for their folding stove, and it fits on the end of the 3W pipe. Works great

@@darthlord4411 yeah I think the distributors have resorted to older stuff because of the conflict over seas. They can't get new stuff. Even the Canada distributor won't sell stuff to the US for the same reason.

@Darth Lord checked out that four dogs stove. Now that seems like an excellent stove. No fancy view window for the ambience and I'd rather have a spark arrester with a top but other than that it checks all the boxes.

Lots of golden nuggets in this video. More than I’ve seen in most videos. I sold my Winnerwell Nomad large to buy the Pomoly T1 mini and regret it😢. Now I’m back in the market for a larger stove. I found a Caminus Large stove used for 400 CAD in my neck of the woods which I think is a major deal but it weighs so much! Thinking I should just buy buy it and use it with a Russian Bear UP-2 and if I don’t like it I can flip it and make a couple bucks 😅
@AbundantAdventures

The large caminus will definately be overkill for the up 2 but if your carrying that much weight already you might as well have a nice big stove.

@Bryan24k8 It's a struggle sometimes but you can open it by yourself if you get it spread out and have some decent muscle. It's like pulling back on a compound bow.

Never ran across them before. At first glance it looks great. Has all the makings of an all in one design that looks great. Not air tight, so it won't be a long burner but nice stove.

I have a collapsible titanium box stove, which with its nine foot titanium foil stove pipe weighs about two pounds! To my knowledge there's no other titanium box stove which comes near it weight wise, and that was a factor for me. I bought a sheet of expanded titanium sheet to make a grate and some additional titanium foil to make a baffle. It also has a titanium damper to work with the baffle and grate to get the best output and I'm making a titanium anti-downdraft cowl for the stove pipe (which also has a spark arrestor). Titanium is an excellent choice of material for tent stoves, and the foil stove pipes are remarkable for their packed size. No one needs to spend large amounts of money on a tent stove, You Tube has outstanding video tutorials on how to make your own tent stoves, from a round paint can stove to a box stove that looks so neat you'd think it was commercially manufactured. There's even a guy that made his own box stove from a sheet of recycled titanium foil...
