I don’t understand why if the police officers were so concerned about a supposed axe man, why did they casually leave the scene without a further continued search having confirmed you weren’t the axe man? The axe man might still have been lurking around but instead they saunter off for a tea break. I suspect there never was an axe man, they knew who you were and they had a score to settle. I had a similar experience in Chorley not far from Astley Park when walking home from work around 15 years ago and although not handcuffed the experience left me with a bitter taste due to the way I was treated.

@@quaverpants You can still get it. Since the cad was about reggie he makes a SAR for it and for the tape of the call. No problem in blanking out the names, or a transcript of the call. Make sure you ask for the times of the call, the times of the CAD and the CHS as welll if one was made. Very very hard for them to get away with not providing it, particularly when you say, you will have to deliver as part of discovery, so do not destroy it. For DPS they have a major issue now. Do they deliver and admit the officers lied, and were in cahoots?

Hi Reggie, this is a very interesting encounter, I did get snatched on the street by a bunch of cops one night many years ago because , as they told me once I was in the back of their van, iI 'matched the description' of a person they were looking for in connection with public order offence, they took me to be 'looked at' by their witness and of course was then released. I not only demanded an apology but also to be returned whence the found me. They did not feel the need to handcuff me and as far as I know they were not breaking the laws of the time, that was during the era of the 'sus' laws which had to be changed because that sort of behaviour was considered unacceptable. I am sure that in this situation the use of handcuffs might have been appropriate if you had been carrying the axe in one hand, or both, but considering you offered no resistance or threat to them they had no good reason top cuff you!. There is still a great deal for you auditors to do, the necessary changes will take a long long time!. Cheers, Richard.

@@carlharris2808 Hi carl, thank you for your reply, at the time I was not aware of that spect of my rights, I understood that I was being snatched under the 'sus' laws of that time when the police had been given much greater powers to detain citizens on any whim!, this lead to a great deal of protest on behalf of members of the West Indian communities in parts of London and the law was changed, further limitations were introduced with PACE, largely on the basis of the results of far too man=y failed prosecutions. Given the wide scale systemic corruption in the force during those times and some of the adverse publicity they so richly deserved there have been a number of variations in the training methods but the underlying assumption of 'authority' in the form of the exercise of 'power over' the public instead of 'power to help' the public is still so deeply embedded in police culture. The only suggestion I have to offer is to make the policed service a part of universal national service where every citizens has to spend some time working in the police force, among a raft of other public services so that everybody knows what everyone else is doing and the tyrants can no longer hide in the uniform!. @@RedHerringMedia Yes there are ways. A SAR Subject Access Request for the call details and times of it. If there was a call, which appears unlikely. Talking normally, all the details of the call will be logged, date, time, description etc will be recorded. Guarantee no such report exists.

They are clearly lying, it's just because of the camera. If there was a person with an axe, they would be in a panic to find them. Instead they casually left the park and returned to the station. I hope you take this further

There was no axe, they are just playing silly games for their mates because of your auditing, the made up axe lie was just done to play silly buggers on behalf of their so called officer mates, as soon as they mentioned drone they knew the game was up. Check out if there was any reports made of someone carrying an axe.

Sue them, that looked very suspicious. For what it is worth get the description of the person they are looking for before they start the search and then a copy of the logged phone in version. Interesting to see they turned and walked out of the Park and didn’t patrol in search of anyones else. Keep up the good work
