Nothing better than " boots on ground " for your intel but obviously prior research, geology maps and area history including previous leases as well as using GPS etc but I was wondering if using a drone to scan the area first may help in exchanging/discussing potential location sites info. It would aid in remembering where certain roads, boundaries etc are so passed on information can be easily checked and verified. I understand old school is good but anything to assist in your search and recording could be useful, obviously you wouldn't vlog the aerial video cause of security but I believe it could help with site sharing info within your crew. Anyway just an observation/suggestion. Cheers G.

I appreciate your explanation on the topography I use a Whites GM 3 i dont miss anything very sensitive manual ground balance you go by your ear being able to know the tones of different metals like bass and lead hitting aluminum the signal bounces back with very low loss of signal depending on the density of the target and the absorption of the return signal in the magnetic loop some dont know everything become magnetized as the signal hits it Ferrous and non-ferrous one time i detected the blue cobalt in a glass marble ...Ive been metal detecting for many years thinking back I met Buzzard Massie as a boy scout in Columbia California in 1973 I got Gold Fever if you can Gold Dredging is a Blast just a thought God Bless Folks happy hunting

I'm assuming it's fall / winter? There are flies out there in the winter? It must be crazy in the summer. I live in the mojave desert here in the U.S. and it can get up to 48 C / 120 F here but winter can down about -6 C / 18 to 20 F.
