Oh man, you've been missing out on an awesome manga & anime!! There are so many awesome characters, and each of them have wonderful arcs spread out over the series. Long-time fans really savor these emotional moments between characters, be they romantic couples, or family relationships, strong bonds of friendship, loyalty, and protecting their loved ones, etc. You really should try the series, start reading the excellent manga, and watch the anime. Don't let the length of the series deter you. The longer the series, the more for the fans to love!

@@ReneandMae Hahaha yeah, because of this amv, I'm now a little fan. I started watching it when it just came out on crunchyroll. I haven't seen all of the episodes yet because there are quite a few. (I live in Germany and there are only about 340 dubbed episodes) I love anime from the 90s, so that's one of my favorite anime now. I'm younger than this series too, that's why I missed it a bit. I also bought a couple of mangas.

They have a character and a feel to them that you just don't get from a lot of modern anime series. But when it comes to Detective Conan, it's funny that you can call it a '90's series and a modern series at the same time. That is a testament to the popularity and staying power of the series!

I loved Makoto's appearance in the manga & anime, to give Sonoko someone to love, and "settle down with", if you know what I mean. She was such a man-eater to begin with, it was good to see her with a guy who encouraged her to have more respect for herself, and his intense desire to protect her no matter what has always been adorable. And let's admit it, with the kind of luck Sonoko has, she needs all the protecting she can get.
