What if the functions are trigonometric? (so that it won't work as a polynomial) Should we just say that we have to SHOW that they are independent? And how would we do that?

I had to refresh on the concept of linear independence/dependence during my biomedical engineering class. Thank you for this!

Thank you explanation was really clear. Do you have any videos about damped motion DE?

This boils down to a quadratic equation and how did u able to conclude that all coefficients would be zero. Shouldn't you solve for x in this case as it's a degree 2 polynomial and there might be 2 real roots. Can u explain it!

i suggest that in 2:50 you divide by x or x2 whatever its better than making the right hand side added to either 0x2 or 0x

Does this method apply to any problem where you have to prove if 2 or more functions are linearly independent or linearly dependent? Or does it only apply to problems where you have to prove 3 functions are linearly independent or linearly dependent?
@TheMathSorcerer6 жыл бұрын
2 or more, same thing, so it works for 2, 3, 4, etc

wish people would stop saying "sub" every time. it basically doubles the amount of words you're saying, i can't stand it. like no ones going to know what you're talking about if you just say "c1".
