I was yelling, take the red card, which unlocks 2 rings, which is a win and the wizard card, which is also an instant win, so a win win. situation. And then she wins anyways with the bonus.... lol, didn't expect that. I want this game! But I need to get my husband to like this, and he isn't really into boardgames... And I have nobody around who likes boardgames... But this game is fast and simple, while still exciting, so I have a 40% chance that maybe I can get my husband into this...

The alliance tokens are so cool and powerful. I like that the game encourages you to seek these out even if you are not going for an alliance win.

Wow! I totally blew this off bc all I heard was "It's just 7 Wonders Duel with LotR theme" But damn, there's a map for area control, forming alliances, some extra cool looking components, and that track at the top... And the artwork! And what table presence!! Also, it does seem like they fixed the clunky parts of the original. We're absolutely getting this now 👍😁

The map locations are named after different nations of Middle-earth, while the landmark tiles are representative of specific sites, locations, or towers within those regions/nations.

Was anyone else yelling "the eagles are coming" for the last 10 minutes of the video!!? A 6th race symbol (feather from hobbit reward) could have been gained using the landmark she did eventually build to win, just much earlier. Fun game!

Good game, but you guys made a few mistakes. 1. Sauron starts with 2 units in Mordor. Free people's start with 2 units in Arnor. 2. Landmarks don't get replaced each chapter, only replenished if they are used.

7 Wonders Duel is my favourite two-player game which means it's probably my favourite board game. This LotR instalment was a no-brainer for me, I'm surprised we haven't seen other re-skins; perhaps we will. Great play-through but come on guys, one of the world's best known intellectual properties and you don't take the three-minutes to Google the (very small number of) IP names?
