Hi Mrs O! This video has honestly helped me SO much. I have an exam coming up soon, and I was really struggling with my word problems and what action I should choose. I feel much more confident and like a weights been lifted off my shoulder, the idea of division giving you the total but you need to find the total for multiplication really helps. Does your poster (at 4:32 point in video) have an error in it? Should the + sign on the right lower side actually be a X symbol? I want to print this poster, but I just can't wrap my head around why there is an addition symbol instead of a multiplication symbol. Thank you! Thanks for reaching out. The visual display at point 4:32, if you intend on using it as a poster, requires some context. The video explains that the + symbol on the left indicates "plus" (for example...this plus that equals...) and the division symbol on the right means total when "divided." However, I will consider adding a poster similar to this one to my store.

Many students tend to have difficulty distinguishing between the two. However, if you help her understand the action words involved in multiplication & division (as explained in the video) along with some practice she will get better. Also view some of my other word problem videos that focus on multiplication and division for additional tips. Hope this helps.
