( • Partial Fraction Decom... )
( • A Complete Partial Fra... ) Determining Coefficients for Partial Fractions: All Four Cases Explained!
In this video, I’ll show you how to determine coefficients for partial fractions by covering all four cases:
Distinct linear factors
Distinct linear factors, some repeated
Distinct quadratic factors
Distinct quadratic factors, some repeated
You’ll learn how to break down complex rational functions into simpler fractions, making integration easier. We’ll go through examples that involve different combinations of linear and quadratic factors, explaining the reasoning behind each step. These concepts are crucial when solving integrals involving partial fractions.
What You Will Learn:
How to decompose rational functions using partial fractions.
How to handle distinct and repeated linear factors.
How to manage distinct and repeated quadratic factors.
Step-by-step examples for determining coefficients in all cases.
Techniques to integrate using partial fractions.
By the end of this video, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to determine coefficients in all types of partial fractions, preparing you for more advanced calculus problems.

Patrick, you are seriously my hero. I had a 77 in my calc 2 class. After discovering your videos I brought it up to a 92, letting my keep my 4.0 GPA. I have recommended your videos to all of my classmates and the whole class's grades went up. You have no idea how much help you have been to math students around the whole world. We are forever indebted to you.
