Don't you love paying out the ass for school so that you can just learn everything on youtube for free from someone infinitely better at teaching? Thanks for the help king

I like how you so subtly covered up the spots where you had arithmetic slip-ups. I didn't notice at all :) But in seriousness, this did help a lot. Thanks for putting the video up.

Your videos are going to be extremely helpful this year. I'm taking Calculus Three in a large class as a Freshman with a teacher who does not speak English well and I leave his lectures knowing nothing more that I did when I walked in. I am definitely going to be turning to your videos before all of my lectures. Thank you so much for all the time you put in to creating these.

I have an exam in Calc III today, and this exact type of problem is on the practice exam. My professor never taught us this or even mentioned equations for tangent planes, so I'm grateful that you were able to teach it in such an easy way to understand.

This is by far the best video on this topic out there. I watched the khan academy video on this topic and this one left it in the dust.

your graphing help me to understand how normal vector to given plane is also normal to tangent plane. Thank you sir. Keep your good work

Thank You so much for these videos!!! You are the reason I'm passing my class at all! I mean that quite literally. I wish you were my professor, but at least I can learn off of these videos you have posted. Thanks you again for taking the time to make such high quality videos such as this one.

this might be silly but given an equation that is not in the form z= something, can we solve for say x or y if it is easier? and then whatever we did with z we do with x or y?

Thanks for your video! What's the graphing software you're using to show the tangent planes on the curves?

A straight line y=-x+4 cuts the parabola with equation y=16-x^2 at the points A and B. a.Find the coordinates of A and B b.Calculate the distance between the points A and B c.Find the equation of the tangents at A and B, and hence determine where the tangents meet. d.At the point where A and B meet, the line Q is perpendicular to the line B. find the equation of the line at Q

I found this video tremendously helpful thank you! And I would really love to know what graphing software was used here - to help with my own study and teaching endeavors.

What if the plane is tangent to a surface at its extreme point? since at the surfaces extreme point the gradient comes out as 0, every time i try and find the equation of the tangent plane to this point, the equation also comes out as 0 ! :( :(
