Detroit: Become Human - Battle For Detroit (Part 32 - Ending)

Detroit: Become Human is one of my favorite story driven games, I have played it a lot and I've seen almost every ending.
Lately, I decided to go over the game one more time, and also record it, making the best possible choices (from protagonists' perspective (in my opinion)) and achieving the best ending.
This is NOT a blind playthrough.
Playthrough specifications:

About this chapter (Spoilers):
- This is it, the end, the longest chapter in the game. The consequences of all your choices and actions add up here. Because of the complexity of the story, this chapter splits in 6 different flowcharts, 2 for each protagonist. Depending on what happened previously, some people may already be dead, or are forced to die here. This ending is the only one which has a happy outcome for everyone involved. I will talk about some of the decisions made, there's simply way too much to describe and not enough space.
Connor
- Up until Floor -49, everything is mostly the same but there's multiple opportunities where Connor can die.
- At floor -49, if Hank is alive, Connor 60 will have him hostage. If Hank is already dead, Connor 60 will shoot you while trying to convert the androids. The only way to escape here is by transferring your conscience in the body of Connor 60 when he gets close enough.
- If Hank is taken hostage you are forced to choose between saving him or not. Sacrificing him, gives you the chance to convert the androids, but Connor 60 will kill Hank and then shoot you, starting the sequence described previously.
- Saving Hank has the Connors briefly fight and then questioned by Hank to identify the real one. The only question that matters is about Hank's son. "Cole" is his son's name and this option will always appear, however, if you didn't discovered the photo during "Russian Roulette" then the unlocked lock option will not accompany the name. Choose anything else and Hank will kill you.
- Amanda will attempt to take control of Connor at the end, but touching the blue stone is the way out, finally revealing its purpose.
Kara
- Kara and Alice will always try to sneak past the soldiers. If you saved Luther in "Crossroads" he will be present here along with a Jerry. If you don't save him again here, he will die along with the Jerry.
- If you are spotted by the soldiers, Kara's captured path begins which is her other flowchart in this chapter.
- Saving Luther will shorten the timer so that taking the safer route will result in missing the last bus.
- The checkpoint is actually not a risky path. The group can't die or get captured. You can choose to shoot the guards but it's not necessary.
- At the bus terminal, Todd will be here if you didn't kill him in "Stormy Night". If you opened Alice's box all the way back in chapter 3, you can persuade him to let you go.
- You have to steal the tickets to have a chance for everyone to live. It might seem cruel, but the couple with the baby are humans, meanwhile Kara's group are running for their lives.
- At the border, the game tries to make you sacrifice someone as a distraction. However, if Markus is peaceful you don't have to sacrifice anyone as the guard will let you pass.
Markus
- You will gain a final big increase in public's opinion relationship stat and a few more smaller increases depending on what you say and do.
- Accepting Perkins' deal will get everyone killed.
- In order for the demonstration to succeed, you need to have the public opinion higher than "Indifferent" and choose "Sing" or "Kiss North" (if you romanced her) when the androids are cornered.
- I chose "Sing" because Markus kisses North a bit later anyway.

Honestly, I'm into Detroit: Become Human for Connor's journey. His story was the most interesting one because in the "Best Route' we can see him change from a machine to a human being. Sure Markus being a leader to make androids free and Kara just wanting a family is cool but, Connor's story is just (in my opinion) the best one here.

The "best choices" in the playlist title means, what I thought at that time, the best choices in my opinion, but I also preferred action over calmer options whenever the same outcome was achievable - I just wanted to clarify this out just in case, because this game is very complex and hits everyone's ethical side differently, so what's best for me wouldn't be the best for someone else.

the "camps" also has some unfortunate parrallel to the The Third Reich's "concentration camps" where the jews are sent to be exterminated...(only difference is that jews that are 18+ are put into forced labour... here *the deviants are all exterminated without exceptions* ) also it's directly applied that certain people in this universe are very very uncomfortable with the camps due to historical reason( *"some say these camps awaken painful memories from human history"* (2:14))... also *"...until we have dealth with the android question"* (1:42) to me reminds of the use of the little phrase of "the jewish question" but i may be over analysing abit too much

Just rewatching playthroughs of this game again since it's been a while, Rewatched the whole thing from Part 1 to Finish, This is one of the best walkthroughs I've seen, This is definitely one of the best story focused video games ever made!

This is the best ending; however, for the airport incident at Canada, you don't pick anyone for the sacrifice and wait until you get checked. But, you nailed the best ending ever. I loved it all and thank you for playing it.

@@ChelseyLinden I also went as peaceful as possible the first time around. That first playthrough is always the more memorable one. Later I did explore all other possibilities but I still prefer non-violent options. Quantum Dream definitely knew how to deliver emotions through this game :D

The whole Hank deciding who the real connor is scene, i think they should've given the option to us as Connor that we can prove to Hank of our validity by simply saying that we can prove it by converting the androids in that room to deviant side. Would've been funny not gonna lie

The ending isn't quite perfect, (in my opinion) as it only ends in the "people" being free, it would be more emotional if there was a scene where it shows the aftermath of the protest, where humans and androids live depending on each other, not being forceful etc. The father and son relationship hank has with connor is so heartwarming, kinda wished they added a game focused on these two being the absolute best duo. (English is not my main language, so pardon if i made any grammar or phrasing mistakes). Good gameplay though, my pc cannot handle this game whatsoever and the only choice I have is to find videos where they (coincidentally) picked the choices I want and you did all of them.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the playthrough! Regarding the ending, well this is subjectively the best/most peaceful ending you can get with what the game provides. Unfortunately the game leaves the rest to our imagination from this point forward, so one can interpretate the future however they wish. At the end of the day, it's still a good baseline to end the game on. Realistically, it's unlikely the relationship between humans and androids will suddenly be very friendly from the start. I might be wrong but as far as I remember even if Markus wins the protest, not revolution, the androids recycling camp still continues to operate in the ending cutscenes.

Humans are not the ones being hunted, it's the androids. No other family would be sacrificed here. If you go to Adam, then you trigger the river boat ending where you lose at least 1 main character guaranteed. Keeping the tickets is the better choice here.

I’ve had this vision of a what if scenario where Todd joins Kara Luther and Alice and escapes with them to the border if you ask me that would be a perfect ending for Todd

While that's definitely a hypothetical what if, there is no need for Todd to 'escape', as he's a human, so he can safely get out of the city anyway. Besides that, his character's portrayed as being quite unstable through the game, so I doubt Kara would be on board with him joining their group. Perhaps a more realistic scenario would be if Todd would help Kara's group escape somehow after they meet at the bus stop, similarly to how the alternative 'crossing the river' ending is for Kara, with the family that's been hiding the androids are helping them escape with boats.

true Todd might be unstable but if there was a way to talk to him a 2nd time I think there could have been an option to where Todd can help you find a way across the border without risk or something that he has contacts

You know, i'm a teenager and a student, i can't afford PS4/PC nor the game, i often watched a lot of video about Detroit: Become Human, some videos show what is the best decision or the worst, good ending or bad ending, i know what to choose in that game, i just don't have money to play it. I always search for years about Detroit: Become Human gameplay best choice decision based on what i watched is the best, and your gameplay is perfect, to the down last piece. It just like the choice what i want to make if i can play the game... You know, a lot of gameplay video i watch seemed not "the best" as they claimed it. Sometimes they didn't save the officer in connors first mission or save the fish, or choose to take down carl's son for better scene. Also you manage to seek the best choice for best ending, even like smallest detail like you choose singing than kissing. Like i said, everything is perfect, just the way i wanted to play, and it's also the best ending for both humans and androids. Also English is my second language, i can't understand what happened unless i see subtitle because some words or phrases or sentence can not be understood by only listening to them. If only i knew your video sooner, maybe it'll make my more happy. I kinda regret watching full gameplay of some KZbinr who claimed "the best" as it not "the best", and don't have subtitle. I know this game from very beginning after release because i watched my favorite KZbinr gameplay, at first i like his gameplay also the game, but then i realized that every decision he chose is far away from good, even the best one. They would cross the Detroit River with boat to reach Canada before being spotted by coastguards. Unfortunately, Luther will always die in that scenario, no matter the choices.

The bad choices would simply mean to kill all main characters as soon as possible. Kara would die in Stormy Night chapter by refusing to become deviant. Connor would fail every mission by standing still and not doing anything and then get decommissioned in "Last chance Connor" chapter. And finally Markus would also fail everything by standing still in each chapter, then simply getting evicted from Jericho in Crossroads. A secret ending will play but that's about it.

Because if you choose sing, they eventually kissed too, so it kinda worth it to sing rather than kiss as it kinda less interesting.
