Luther's ending makes the most sense. Hear me out. If the humans were smart about this and did the temperature checks on all three of them, they would all die. Luther creates a scene so scary and traumatising that the guard and the soldiers don't even bother with the temperature check and let Alice and Kara past because they feel sorry for the girl and automatically remove the idea that she is an Android. Also, Alice needs Kara to live. So Luther sacrifices himself so Kara can be with Alice instead of Kara getting herself killed. When it comes to writing and character arc, Luther sacrificing himself completes his arc of doing the duty of a Father to protect his child at all costs. Even if he has to die. I hope you'll understand.

That's a pretty good point. It definitely makes more sense than sacrificing Jerry, since he just simply tries to run past the guards, a few lines over from Kara and Alice.

Agree with both of you. This might be an unpopular opinion, but if there was a canon ending, I think the boat ending with Luther protecting them would be it. Hear me out. I don't want Luther to die, but based off how many damn opportunities to lose Luther, from Rose's house, MULTIPLE times in Jericho and outside, and all the endings. The game really wants him to die. And if when you tell Alice the story and say a story about how everybody lived in the end, she tells you that it's unrealistic, and how every story always ends in a happy ending. It would be more fitting and realistic. And for the 3 places Kara can be in the end, the camp doesn't really feel right for being canon, but boat and the border would be the best in my opinion. The boat one is honestly more emotional in my opinion, and Luther sacrificing himself to save Kara and Alice from the gunshots, along with just the boat ending being a huge tear trainwreck. The border one might fit, but the boat one has the more emotional ties, and makes the player feel sad, that Luther died heroically saving Kara and Alice from gunshots, then Kara trying so hard to save Alice from the freezing temperatures and all the threats they encountered, and then barely arriving, with the player thinking Alice had died to the cold, and then she wakes up. The border with Luther sacrifice is emotional too, don't get me wrong, but the boat one seems more fitting as, like I said earlier about Alice talking about how it is unrealistic for all these good things to happen. You happen to be able to get fake passports, and then happen to get tickets by somebody else's tickets falling out of a bag, and just the entire journey before that in general is just luck. The boat was more struggling in the end, as they almost got shot down, they lose Luther, and they have to get rid of stuff on the boat for it not to sink, and then Kara has to push the boat to freedom while damaging biocomponents. I just feel like it would be more fitting and realistic for a canon ending if there is a sequel, which has a small chance of coming out.

@@Raydian4 Yeah I think that the one and only set if options for him to live was probably just put in to avoid complaints from people about him having no chance of survival. Was probably just thrown in and they're like, "he can survive, but good luck". I personally think the boat route is the most canonical way to go, based on the dynamics of it. And when I play the escape route, I'm just too much of a nice guy to return the tickets. Only other route I go is the captured by surrender route then abandon Alice just to get the Kara post credits scene.

Tokarief If you took the detour you miss the bus and have to go in a boat and Luther won’t survive if you do so, so you have to take the risky route (which isn’t all that risky) and you have to steal AND keep the tickets from the family.
