So the Detroit blowers don't use any teflon strips or anything to seal? What kind of clearance tolerance is there on those rotors? I noticed he took a buffing wheel to the ends which seems like it would take off additional material opening the clearance more. Is the "boost" pressure in these N/A DDs so low that it doesnt matter?

The Detroit Diesel blowers only required teflon seals in the end plates, for clearance in the rotors refer to your service manual.

Man's needs a vacation. Hammered the first 2 seals like 5x for no reason

There’s not enough explanation on a few critical areas. The front timing gears should be taken off together, he needs 2 pullers and take them off at the same time being very careful not to lose or mix up any of the shims. I have seen some that have shims behind both rotors gears. Don’t mix up the parts side to side. He should paint it after he’s done putting it together. Very thln coat of Hi Tack from a can wlth a brush works well. there’s overspray inside the case. Whiz wheel he shouldn’t even need.

i wish he'd be a little more gentle with those parts

How similar is this process for a 6v-71?

Its almost the same!

But you didn't show how to set the clearance which was the most important
