More like invoiced. EPA should definitely be doing a check on the effects of that water washing chemicals into the ground water though. Especially if it continues, could end up poisoning peoples backyard gardens and families.

It's the government pushing this crap. Companies would have never gotten into it in the first place if they weren't forced to by the Feds and states like California.

@Sam-pi6ch, These automobile manufacturers are being bullied/forced by the Tree Huggers and are Federal Government. So to reiterate. Don't give the Federal Government any ideas of imposing fines for car manufacturers for having accidents with the batteries because it's the Federal Government forcing them to build these cars.

I saw another report earlier today that said "Fires at the plant are not uncommon" Bullpucky, I worked at that plant from the time it opened for 25 years and we never had a fire that we had to call DFD while we made gasoline powered cars.

GM already when through the EV mess from 1990-1996! There is a good documentary on this called who killed the electric car. GM was producing EVs and they were all destroyed and forgotten about. In 1990 California ruled 2% of all cars had to be electric by 1998! Then it all went away.

Eight events since August? 😮 And yet the narrative is still being pushed: "...these batteries are not bursting into flames..." was the priceless quote here 😂 So what exactly did the battery do after the fork truck drove into it... Sing KUMBAYAH, MY LORD? Book a flight to Hawaii? Order a t-bone steak with extra fries? Go to a football game? Take a leisurely walk in the park? No... IT BURST INTO FLAMES!!! 🔥🔥🔥

The phrase "we are learning" in current-day news reports sounds odd to me. I don't recall hearing this in past news reports. Most of the time, it could just be omitted without having any effect on the story.

Insurance companies will be the ones to drive the final nail into the coffin of EVs. They will refuse to insure the car and they will refuse to insure YOUR HOME if you charge it there. They're too much of a fire risk and they cost twice as much in repair costs. The battery in an EV may need to be replaced after the smallest fender bender - costing them $15,000 up to as high as $60,000.
@practicalguy9739 ай бұрын
I agree. Insurance rates are skyrocketing for EVs and they are depreciating at the same time! People that own them are loosing a lot of money. Imagine a massive factory being shut down once a month for many hours as shown in the video because of a damaged battery being unpredictable. No chance on the costs of EV batteries coming down with the handling costs in manufacturing when it goes wrong, they are too big, too heavy, too many cells and the chances of something going wrong is exponential compared to simple things like tool or laptop batteries. With EV battery costs being so high insurance will continue to pass that cost on to the policy holders or deny insurance as we hear is already happening with some insurance companies. In the UK they have recommendations from the gov that a damaged EV must be 15 meters away from other objects due to the battery potentially going off at any time even months later. That is another major cost in taking space in salvage yards and parking lots due to the battery.
