It's great the remaing old mansoins and buildings are being restored, but I'm sorry to say I think it's a shame they didn't build all the new constiction as architecturally period correct as possible to blend in with the old, Instead they built all those new cheap prefab all look alike buildings that have the architectural qualities of a mobile home. They had a chance to get it right and failed, but at least it made a comeback. The downtown area with mostly restored historic buildings instead of new cheap looking ones is beautuful.

AMAZINGLY INTERESTING ARCHITECTURAL detail on these older structures… given the choice I’d buy one of them rather than those BLAND modern new builds that won’t last into the next century as the older ones that remain have proven to do
