Mr. Banky Pound spent 33 years incarcerated for crimes committed during his youth. After
being released from in March of 2020, he was invited to be a guest on the After Prison Show (APS) on
KZbin, garnering over 900k views. BANKPOUND has since gone on to do several more interviews on
APS to include his cooking gaining millions of views.
In July 2020, the @bankypound KZbin channel was created to educate and inform the youth
of the importance of freedom and the consequences that come with incarceration.
As of February 2022, Banky Pound has posted 338 videos gaining over 5 million views, and over
50,000 subscribers to his @bankypound KZbin channel.
In December 2021, Banky Pound created another KZbin channel, @puredeliciousness,
dedicated to cooking and conversation. To date, this channel has 39 videos, with over 200k views, and
over 5000 subscribers.
During his short journey, Banky Pound has had the privilege of interviewing and networking with
@america’snextmotivator, @16dalife, @varacityexchangetv, @guallatalk, @likarockproject,
@letssipandtalkwithfremakenedy, @afterprisonshow, Ant Harris (NFL-Eagles). He has worked with
Clelin Ferrell of the LV Raiders to assist with back-to-school drives, campaigned for former VA Governor
Terry McAuliffe, met with former VA Governor Ralph Northam to discuss Second Chance Citizens, spoke
with the legendary poet Nikki Giovanni and was invited by Head Basketball Coach, Mr. Shawn Walker to
be guest speaker at HBCU ECSU.
In the last 23 months since his release, he has received countless letters, emails, and comments
regarding the impact his videos has had on his followers.

I enjoyed your video about the NY guys spitting the razors the other day. I myself got about a combined 4 years in the NY state prison system between 2009-2014. You were spot on about their nature from saying, "Son" a lot to being wild. 🤣 Some of my favorite and the most inspiring people I've ever met in person came from NY City that I met when I was upstate though. Detroit sounds like a crazy place too! So grateful to have that all behind me and you to have it behind you as well! It boggles my mind that you did 33 years as I just turned 34 like 2 weeks ago. You pretty much did my whole life in prison!! It's almost hard to fathom. it's absolutely incredible you made it out in one piece, no cuts or stabbings on your skin and I am happy you are free. Would be super interesting to hear a story about two opposing gangs or cities going to war with each other and how it panned out if you have any stories like that in your arsenal. I feel like you’ve been working through some pent up emotion the past few uploads, can see you getting a bit teary eyed touching on certain subjects. I’ve been through some rough times myself - no point in comparing who had it worse cause that’s not the point.. we’re all humans and we all want happiness. For me I didn’t even realize how much I was unable to trust other people, for years it was like a brick wall I didn’t even see that was right in front of my face. It’s not easy letting go and opening up brother, and it’s also not a straight line towards reaching that goal. Just hold your head up

That's why I am single to this day.. you are just not sure about what people want from you... It can seem like everyone is trying to get something up out of you.... They have a word for it... I appreciate this story of Detroit O. I can truely relate. When I was 13 I started boxing at the local ymca and through out my life i praticed certain martial art deciplanes but I was never the dude to start anything or try anyone but throughout my life I was always looked at as an easy target to test simply because my appearance seemed to certain people made them see me as a easy target but little did they know I was well trained to defend myself and i never understood why people would test other people by appearance. I am not trying to brag because i am far from the baddest dude around but i can surely defend myself so thanks for this story and one question. How old were you when you started boxing?

My relatives was on Finkel early 80's as a kid. I had been in Chicago,East St. LOUIS, ST. LOUIS and New York. That spot was treacherous. Was workin out that way on mack Ave few years back. Truck broke down on Finkel, still treacherous. They only got probly 10 police in the whole city. Good Men was on my side and God
