What I love about this team, is how they’ve been slowly forming an identity. Portis would not only add to team chemistry he would fill a huge need off the bench at PF. Sasser, Beasley, Holland, Stew and Portis would give us a the chance to compete for the 6th seed at a minimum.

@@pheralanpathfinder4897 Might (should?) be able to get him literally for free if the Bucks end up with LaVine or Beal, as the Bucks would have to dump all of Middleton and Connaughton and Portis to make the money work.

@@pheralanpathfinder4897 I think Milwaukee needs to make a move, and the most likely guys on the way out are Middleton and Portis. Not sure where things stand with the Butler trade but we might end up with either one of those guys as a salary dump. Hopefully we won’t give up too much in return (probably Simone and maybe another small piece)

@@PistonsTalk These Pistons should not want to win that sort of bidding war: they are already screwed in terms of future assets because of Weaver's utterly disastrous reign of error and are at the very start of a(nother) rebuild. They need more assets, not less. Can't be giving stuff away for decent players approaching age 30. Cam J will already be old by the time they are ready to compete (should it ever happen).

Troy Weaver still has his job and is still with the Pistons if he wasn’t forced to hire Monty Williams who he did not want. Last years team could’ve done what they are doing this year had they let Troy do his job. Our core talent is thanks to Troy Weaver.. Jalen Duren who people rag on is barely 20 years old and no where near what he’s gonna be potentially. Ausar Thompson reminds me of a young Andre Igudala not to mention Cade, Jaden Ivey, Beef Stew, and Marcus Sasser. Nothing was disastrous about Troy Weavers tenure.. When they become a contender with those same pieces goof balls like yourself won’t acknowledge it but he revived a dead franchise that had no future. You have hope now because Troy Weaver.. Disastrous tenure would be SVG missing on Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker to draft Luke Kennard, Stanley Johnson and Henry Ellenson who seen the court a total of 5 minutes.. Then after that Ed Stefanski drafting Sekou Demboya.. Put some respect on Troy Weavers name you novice. Troy Weaver missed on a couple picks but ever GM does. Brad Holmes has missed on picks. The only reason the Pistons had a horrible year is because he was forced to hire someone who didn’t want to be there and who sabotaged the team. Troy Weaver was taking his sweet ass time on free agents I will grant you that but to call that man disastrous is disgusting.. This why I always say for the Pistons to be a historically great franchise it literally has the dumbest fan base in the world. You probably loved the Blake Griffin trade. lol .. I bet you’d love a Zach Lavine trade too. We have young pieces that need to develop to be a top team in the East but that’s what you have when you have a young talented team.
