Ausar lover here too! And I think Ausar is the wild card here if the Pistons will be able to sustain this winning basketball. JB has done a good job for him to push the ball off a rebound which makes the opponent's defense to scramble and not set. That's what actually helps the team by not settling in the half court offense too much with Ivey out. What's limiting Ausar playing time right now especially in crunch time is his shooting. I think JB do not want to risk Ausar taking free throws. But from what I noticed these past few games, Ausar seems to get his confidence in his shooting knocking down 3's on a broken play and being able to convert his free throws against the Knicks.

*First Half Season Takeaways* Surface level analysis: Multi-millionaire basketball players that belong to the Pistons are finally taking every game seriously - it's as if someone reminded them that they make 10's of millions to be PROFESSIONAL athletes. Effort has been unquestioned on most nights with little-to-no FanDuel manipulation being exuded. Deeper level analysis: Last year was an outlier in the negative direction and we're right on pace for what we should be at this juncture - The current Pistons are an average talent modern NBA team with 1 top 25 player - the team only needs to 'play hard' to appear competitive. Beasley and THJ have been the most important Piston additions since Blake Griffin - let that sink in(both above league average true shooting). In fact, id argue that the Pistons, as currently constructed, are a grade above the best Griffin-Drummond-Jackson Pistons. 6-seed is obtainable as constructed - no trades necessary. Not sure that theres a trade out there that would 'guarantee' a higher seed.

Honestly IMO I think they shouldn't do anything, the chemistry has been building with this team, majority of the players are happy and wants to be there. So why ruined something that's working. we fans and the entire Piston Organization goal for this team was to work for the Play-In and find players to work around Cade and it looks like the team is getting well with working with him and that's leading them to be playoff contenders instead. Let's enjoy these Brand New Detroit teams this seasons.

Because THJ, Beasley, and Reed are all on expiring contracts that have trade value now. If we don’t trade them we will lose them and it has been tough getting FAs to sign here. We are young and winning, which is what every team craves. Keep them together this season and we'll know way more in the offseason. If we make the playoffs then we get to see who steps up and who steps back, which is huge since not all players can perform in the playoffs. We should keep Beasley and hope that he will reward that loyalty with signing here long term (He is absolute top priority). Imagine telling Cade that you traded Beasley!!! Wouldn't be a good thing. Even THJ is growing on me because as you can see, guys who can chuck up 3's and get hot at least every few games, WIN you games. I think we are winning because of Cades step forward and then we are a much better 3pt shooting team. We finally have a few guys who just constantly let it fly and hit a good percentage. Never out of a game with guys like that. Kou, I give you credit, you always said we needed floor spacers around Cade. I knew that too, but seeing it play out makes me appreciate how important that actually is.
@michaelahurt13 күн бұрын
As much as I love the groove Cade is in, I don't think he's shooting 46% from three the rest of the year so lets not rush it. Build like Denver, Boston and OKC. Not Minnesota, Atlanta and Indiana. Slow and steady wins the race. There are no shortcuts.
@Nader-m1u12 күн бұрын
Here's an idea (even though people might hate me) - Jaden Ivey + Simone Fontecchio for D'Aaron Fox. Sacramento gets its Fox replacement and Fontecchio while we get a guy who is a legit Robin to Cade who is still young. Plus, this doesn't disrupt the current team as Ivey isn't playing and Fontecchio hasn't played great but has picked it up lately. Attach whatever picks necessary, we have tons of youth. I know this is pie in the sky, but that's type of move I would try for or just stand pat and get a guy like Lonzo Ball.
