Detroit splash pad shooter had mental health challenges: Police

A Michigan community is now coming together after a man opened fire at a splash pad in a Detroit suburb over the weekend, injuring nine. Police have identified the shooter as 42-year-old Michael William Nash.
Police say Nash had no criminal history but did suffer privately from mental health challenges. Authorities say he fired multiple shots at the park before leaving the scene. Police eventually found him dead, and a weapon was recovered at the site of the shooting. A motive at this point is not clear.
