Hey, I just discovered your channel. I'm going to be watching all of your videos. Im 26 and a 1/3 rec trying to make poker my side hustle. Your content is great. I learned that I need to start over betting and adding bigger sizings instead at a higher frequency instead of using a 1/2 pot size. I need to put more pressure on my opponents. Thanks for the learning experiences. You have THE BEST YT vlog i have found on poker.
@BluffaloSam Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much man! In the beginning, bet sizing is less important than learning other fundamentals. You can just default to a 1/3 Flop 3/4 turn 3/4 River sizing, as you work out your game. Eventually start asking yourself why you're betting x size, what does your opponent most likely have here, and start tailoring your bet sizes exploitatively from there

I used your suggestion for my next 1/3 buy in and made 1.4k in 5 hrs of play. Was putting people to the test and making few hero calls along the way. Ty for the vlog helped out my game a lot.

Gg dude. Tough sessions. For my vote: I kinda like the PIP, it's a unique feature and gives the vids a little more character. But also, I am usually just listening to these while I drive or am doing something so I won't really notice the removal.

nice fold with the 22 and good analysis on the action. the 3b there is never a bluff given the donk, raise, cold call. when people that limp call all of a sudden want to play for stacks, it is almost never a bluff. only 2 combos of 65s that you are ahead of, and lot of people may even just call there.

Think you are experiencing winners tilt. When I am upswinging online this happens to me. I take aggressive action with all the hands the mix despite it being a bad spot for it. Similar to the JTs from your video today.

How often are your decisions based on gto vs player dependent ? When/why do you deviate
@BluffaloSam Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, I've only returned to poker for 8 months, my GTO fundamentals are very behind, and I'm nowhere near close to playing what a solver does. Vs recs I take semi exploitative lines up until the turn/River, that's where I start deviating massively. Preflop, and Flop I play quite standard. Vs regs I try to play my range as best I can.

This session really turned around for you once you got called with your bluffing tilty image on the 2x river value shove. You were really talking yourself into it like on the double flush draw turn when your opponent showed a 9 and you folded 99. Bluff shoving over a combo draw on turns is a very satisfying feeling when your read is correct lol, but def think he was shoving for protection with value (he showed a gutter with a 9 and could have the straight OR an ambitious protection shove with 910 or 9J suited). Good fold IMO. You’re convinced opponent had you set over set with 55 and not 56? I am convinced too, but in the moment, couldn’t believe you folded… I folded a flopped straight in a 4-way limped pot when diamonds came out. I hadn’t a diamond and it was 4 ways limped, so my equity even if it’s just a naked ace isn’t great. Plus Doyle’s voice from beyond was urging me not to go broke in a limped pot out of position! He showed a flopped nut flush 😂
@BluffaloSam Жыл бұрын
Oooo very nice, I'm probably folding the straight there too. Even their bluffs have like 35% equity, and you're dead vs value. The 99 hand once you think it through its pretty much dead vs opponent's range. I am 99% sure V had 55 there. I've played with him about 3 or 4 sessions prior, he doesn't get out of line, very very solid player, books consistent wins
@HoopsYou Жыл бұрын
Man I think I can't fold there unless I've seen the guy nit it up for the previous 2-3 hrs especially for just 600 more. Not convinced its not 56 or something else. Maybe call off with 222 instead of that AKs for 2K.
@ericdoheny9108 Жыл бұрын
@@HoopsYou IDK if I could’ve folded either…Ax combo heart draws are raising there too. I actually think that his earlier plays in the game were terrible and I wouldn’t have lost as much, but when he got called on that 2x value river shove, I’m guessing he regained confidence and started playing better instead of wishfully thinking into poor calls. Result aside, I think folding bottom set on that flop with combo draws galore isn’t necessarily a good play, but that’s just my guess. Are the number of semi bluff raising combo draw combos equal to the number of set combos?
@BluffaloSam Жыл бұрын
@HoopsYou AKs is unfortunately a sigh call in that spot vs that opponent. Opponent can't have 56, I've played with him lots, he isn't limp calling 56o, if he had 56s he would raise himself

Wait fold a set on a draw heavy board but call an all in with one pair on a flush river or two pair!? No one is perfect but you jus contradict your play with folding a set on flop but callin a 1.3x pot shove on river when you have bluff catcher lol

Showed you a 5 of diamonds and you think you made good fold!? Even if you made the right fold there this time, you are Guna get crushed when playing with pros in the bigger games kuz they kno you will fold such big hand on flop when there’s so many draws. A heart or 3-4-7 comes on turn I respect it, but folding a set on that board is a massive -EV play. And you look like a knit. I wouldn’t give you action unless I’m on position and gotta hand. It’s ok to fold when there’s many hands they crush you but too many draws there to fold.
@pokerdiaries6831 Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed it. I was lucky to call all opponent action and hands before you showed them except opponent set with 33. I was convinced he had backdoor flush. I think you played pretty well except fold with set. I guess you are little overthinking when you say :"open limping is always small pocket pair". Well if our opponent is bad he can limp also many other hands. Why do you think he would open 67s/78s but not 55/66 ? Also why he cant have combo draw with A5s/K6s for example ? Its a loose live game. So i really dislike fold with set you have good enough odds to call and if you got set over set well it is just variance. Also I dislike how you played 99 hand. First no need to randomize in live game ever. If your opponents live are so GTO and so balanced than you are probably in a wrong game. Second no need to bet ever on the turn with third pair against 2 opponents. Anyway I think it is a great content and you talked us nicely through your thought process and you played pretty good overall. Keep it up
@BluffaloSam Жыл бұрын
I hate the saying "it's just variance, sometimes we get coolered." This is live poker, vs a rec that open limps we don't need to be calling with 4% equity here. I've played with this opponent multiple sessions, he won't have combo draws here, he's snug and solid. Also, nothing wrong with randomizing preflop, it keeps my 3bets below 25% and makes me tough to play against.
