In fact the light beam is only there to show the player where the effect take place, but doesn't make the string vibrate at all - it's a powerfull magnet device inside the e-bow that's doing the job.

LOS AMO!!! DEUS PUT A SONG IN ALL THE SENTIMENTS, FOR ALL SITUATIONS AT ANY POINT OF VIEW

7 years later, and I still think this song is brilliant. It embraces so many emotions in it. The intro, it's so.. passionate, like if it rips parts of you, in a painful, but pleasurable way.

Not nearly as great as the record execution. The production of Bad Timing is just marvelous! One of the best I've ever heard!

I agree. But all wet from the rain, we did not care. Mauro's ebow sounded epic that day. That's one of the things I liked better live, than on the recording: the long hum of the ebow in the intro.

Its called an ebow, it uses a a light beam to make the strings vibrate when it is held over the pickups. you can vary the sound by changing the position of the ebow from the pickup that is being used. nifty little device!
@simon1994184 жыл бұрын
Not a light beam. A pickup generates a fixed magnetic field which interacts with the moving string to create a current that goes to the AMP and makes your noise (Faraday's law). This process can be run in reverse as well, so if you passed a moving magnetic field through a fixed string you would get current and noise out the AMP. The vibrations occur due to the string basically being unhappy when you apply raphidly changing magnetic fields across it and tries to fight them by generating fields of opposite polarity (this is called Lenz's law).

I was so fucking pissed of one day at Dranouter, a couple of years ago, because tom barman and guy van nueten stopped playing because Tom thought people were talking too much.. Hell, I forgive him because he is friggin' GOOD!

They were known (mainly around the first 3 albums, which ironically/unfortunately coincided with "britpop") in the UK not "big", but you could get their records in most music stores.

Anyone have an idea as to how I could get that sound from Mauro's guitar (the intro)? I can do the melody with my Ebow, no problem, but my sound is not as 'sharp' as his... What kind of effects does he use?

J'y ai vu Ben Harper l'an dernier : absolument génial aussi.

This is why you shouldn't ask these questions on social media. No, they are NOT open fucking minded, never were and they're still a bunch of racists. Less people vote for them now but that's mainly because of the rise of another Flemish nationalist party.
