This is a perfect example of a composer nailing the music score for a project. This introduction is perfect for the mood of this game, Cyperpunk Secret agent ass kickery with the ever present air of mystery. You can almost see a mid 90's TV series of Deus ex opening using a shorter version of this theme in it's opening credits sequence.

It's hard to say how controversial augs are in DX, really. If I remember correctly, you see exactly two augmented civilians in the entire game - one is the ex-UNATCO bartender (so, a vet), and another is Walton Simons, who is not really a civilian. So augs seem to be used mostly in a military or police context, and even then, sparingly - most UNATCO force isn't augmented, it's just the special agents. And even then, from emails, you find out that Gunther is not particularly happy about the kind of treatment that he gets on account of his mechanical augs; and Dr Reyes refers to augmentation as "a sacrifice". And here's part of an email that JC receives: "In an effort to secure freedom and liberty for those under their protection, many UNATCO agents have chosen to sacrifice *social acceptance* for mission performance by surgically replacing limbs and organs with mechanically or electronically enhanced equivalents." The aforementioned bartender, by the way, is also testy if you ask her about her augs, and quickly changes the topic. Then there's the conversation between NSF troops that you overhear on the very first map, where they talk about Gunther: "They'd've replaced his whole body if it would've improved performance. If that's how you judge a man - by performance - then eventually it's not about people but upgrades, versions, functionality... Soon as we buy into the cult of the machine we're just like them." So it would seem that the only reason why augs are less blatantly controversial in DX, is because a random person on the street doesn't really see many. In fact, most of them probably see none. Public figures that use them in a prominent way, like Page, aren't exactly liked - "Now all I need’s a rifle, and then it’s just me and Satan… Yes, Satan… One last look into the devil’s red eyes". And for those who are strongly ideologically motivated, like NSF, there's clearly a similarly strong negative reaction to augs.

Far more bugs too, but I love how the whole level is open, the PS2 had levels sectioned off and loading screens. Plus the inventory system is much more detailed than the heads-up display of the console.

slayerming1 Not really, since they were cut up into many different parts. Each part was significantly smaller, true, but if added all together, they would be a bit larger than the PC version.
