Yea revisiting Golem City and perhaps receiving quests by the character named Entity. I think they ran out time to give her more story. Entity is one of two merchants in Golem City and the only one left if you choose the lethal route for Otar's first favor. She is also the only female merchant in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and, unlike the black market merchants in Prague, is friendly with Adam Jensen and even flirts around with him. She can be found in an area below Štědrý Market with two bodyguards, selling hacking software and tools. Shout out also to Shadowchild, wish we had more time with her.

Human Revolution was one my favourite games of all time but I avoided this until last year because of the bad reviews. I have never been more pleasantly surprised by a game in my life. Prague was so much fun to run around in. I can’t help but feel like if they had taken some of the time and resources from the DLC’s and put it into finishing the main story this would be remembered as an all time great video game. It’s so frustrating because it’s 90% of the way there but falls at the final hurdle.

Yeah I also steered clear of it after the pre order bs but I'm really glad I came back to it. I feel like they were so confident about moving straight into the next game after this that leaving it open like that wasn't an issue but that's not how the dice fell in the end. Once again publishers desperate to squeeze every last penny they can out of customers compromise artistic vision.

I picked up the Deus Ex bundle on a Steam sale a few months back, and I have to say it's the best $12 or so I spent for five(!) games! I played the original DX way back in the day, and it's still one of my top favorites. My brother also played Human Revolution, I saw him play it a few times and found it intriguing, but I never got around to it (and the rest of the series) myself until recently. And oh boy, it was a real treat. In particular I like having played the games long after the release hype (and controversy in the case of MD), they stand out very well on their own and MD in particular is in a different league in terms of polish and quality. (spoilers below) . . . . . . . . . . . . . I have to say, I think DX:MD's story is much better than that of HR. Even the ending is better, although it is a bit abrupt: you kill the bad guy, the end. Multiple endings being a staple of the DX series, MD also executed it perfectly; first of all, the setup to the multiple endings actually make narrative sense instead of it being just "here's the final dungeon, now choose between these different agendas". I didn't even realize you can get _both_ objectives until I got to the ending, and only because after defeating Marchenko I decided to rush to the delegate meeting and cheesed it by cloaking and spamming biocells. Obviously the ending is setting up to a future (so far hypothetical) sequel, but at least it doesn't leave the as-yet-to-be-written continuation with the conundrum of Schroedinger's Ending like DX1 and DX:HR where all of them happened but none of them happened all at once somehow. The storytelling is let down a bit by the weak characters and bad setup. DX1 and DX:HR had extremely memorable characters, while MD kinda just dump them onto you with little chance to develop any meaningful relationship with them. The game assumes you already know who Vega and Janus are, for example, which made no sense unless you played The Fall and read Icarus Effect and Black Light. There's a short movie recapping Human Revolution, but it would have been great if they included some of the other background material too. I, like most people who are into DX for the games, have never read any of the novels. A Criminal Past very nicely fleshes out Dr. Delara Auzenne, but I wish a similar treatment was done to the rest of TF29 (whether by DLC or in the main story). I don't really find the Adam Jensen clone theory to be interesting, tbh. The more intriguing question for me is not how he was rescued from Panchea, but the why, and the story (especially in the sidequests) string you along that particular mystery very well. Who's that doctor who took care of Jensen? Why does the crazy cat lady neighbor also have the same augs, and apparently was also "under the care" of the same doctor? And so on and so forth...

24:55 well please don't forget the micro assembler aug (yup DLC but still get season pass please) which allows you to craft ammunition and energy cells also upgrading your weapons cheaper the typhoon has also been upgraded you can give it the lethal or non lethal option the tesla charge IS THE STUN GUN from Human Revolution the stun gun in this game can only stun enemies not disable electronics and why no mention of the Titan Aug turning you into a walking tank and focus enhancement "bullet time" even the peps and nano blade have multiple uses outside of killing enemies In short the game was built for Aug only playthroughs as well hooray for replayability

That poor launch really did stain its reputation. My buddy is a huge Deus Ex fan but never played MD because he still thaught it was full of microtransactions. Its a great game an we will most likely NEVER see another Deus Ex. They will see the poor sales as lack of interest for the series an not their own incompetence an greed that killed it.

It actually put me off buying it for a long time. Square of course didn't realize the mistake was there's. It doesn't matter now the IP has been sold though. Hopefully it's in better hands.

Eidos Montreal actually made my favorite of the Tomb Raider prequel games Shadow of the Tomb Raider. They also made the amazing Marvels Guardians of the galaxy which has a reference to deus ex in more way that one.

I remember getting to the last boss on this game and i could just not beat it because of something dumb i did (forgot what it was!) And just gave up on it

There's an odd trick to getting the good ending but you basically have to stealth take down all the goons at the party, kill or subdue the big guy (I had his kill switch so we didn't even fight) and get to vip room within a time limit to save everyone. It's not easy at all.
