Trifonov is a magnificent virtuoso. But the main thing is that the images He creates come from the depths of his mental, spiritual nature. Can He see the subtle structures of the universe? It's easy to believe that, especially when you listen to Daniil perform Bach.❤🎹

I really like this pianist. His interpretations are so enlightening expansive. I have loved this masterpiece for about 50 years and have heard three live performances. Brother Trifonov makes me fall in love all over again. “……..for measure and proportion manifest themselves in all areas as beauty and virtue.” PWG

But it's all good now! My husband is Finnish and said who knows what to do with the Finnish language with words a mile long, though this conductor's name is easy. Thank you so much for this video. I enjoy showing my husband performances involving Finns. It's a small country and they are rightly proud of their native son Sibelius and the rich musical tradition that has been inspired in part, I think, by Sibelius. Having been raised in the US public school system where one may or may not have music classes, Finnish music education along with several European countries as the UK, Sweden is a revelation. Having lived in the UK, I saw every child gets a chance at playing an instrument and future musicians following the graded levels attain a solid foundation that serves them their entire lives. They sight read on auto, transpose - to mention a few acquired skills. What has to be innate or attained through great mentors is musicality. The musical life in London speaks to the latter. I was so impressed by both Finland and British music education, I tryed to advocate for the US instituting standardized music education but that fell on deaf ears (pun! ) The reasoning seems to be the level of our orchestras, conservatoires etc is so high so why bother. It's never about enriching all American students by giving them the gift of music which develops the brain in demonstrably positive ways, as well as creating needed audiences for classical, jazz and other genres. The same is probably true for all disciplines - why girls are lacking in stem.
