"Dream through the twilight" - from a poem by Otto Bierbaum with music written by Strauss four days before he turned 21 in 1885. One of the amazing things about Richard Strauss is that his more famous Four Last Songs was written at the age of 84 the year before his death in 1949. But he had begun composing in 1870 at the age of 6. A life full of music that is hard to compare.

Matthias Goerne also has a video with Jan Lisiecki, a rising star in classical piano, singing mostly Beethoven lieder. I think Matthias has a very strong and deep attraction and obsession with pretty young and artistically talented boys. Can't blame him.
