Wunschkonzert für die Wehrmacht - was the title of a German radio program that was broadcast between 1939 and 1941 during the Nazi era.
Explanation: "1939 - relax/study to" is my series of videos with old music from the 1930s-1940s, parodying the popular "lo-fi girl relax/study to" videos.
"1939" and "relax/study to" are not the most compatible things, but please don't make too much of it. Enjoy the music.
This video uses original cassette recordings [tomahawk films, 1998] of songs that were broadcast on the radio. Thanks tomahawk films - The Leading Supplier of Original Third Reich Military Music to the World’s Movie & Television Industry & WW II German CD collectors.

Wunschkonzert für die Wehrmacht - was the title of a German radio program that was broadcast between 1939 and 1941 during the Nazi era. (But in the songs themselves there is no propaganda of Nazism) This video uses original cassette recordings [tomahawk films, 1998] of songs that were broadcast on the radio. The art in video was generated using AI. (some weird arts, huh). I also would like to do the GIF animation, but I can't do it well. Hope you enjoy the video. > But in the songs themselves there is no propaganda of Nazism If the essence of Nazism and Fascism is militaristic nationalism, there may be propaganda value in broadcasting marches and patriotic songs, as compared to e.g. swing, jazz and blues: the former are more congruent with the values of a Fascist regime. There may be propaganda value in having a break with the prior (Weimar) culture, concretely by not broadcasting the same kind of music ("we're doing *this* thing, not the previous thing"). Not that you should feel bad for listening to this music. For example, in one of the Indiana Jones movies, the Nazis are maching to Königgrätzer Marsch. It is not taboo in present-day Germany. Not everything gets corrupted or taboo just by being _touched_ by Nazis.

@@Nico-fv1do Classical music was terrible in the 1920s 1930s and 40s in Germany. There are no outstanding composers with exception to Richard Strauss. Weimar culture destroyed it. Classical music never recovered. With people like arnold schoenberg working towards its annihilation. Serious beautiful music died in the beginning of the 20th century only being held together by remnants of the romantic era

There was a bar in Long Beach, CA back in the 1970's that was owned by a veteran of the Wehrmacht who used to play German marshal music and serve up Braunschweiger sandwiches. It was called Joe's Jost. It's still around, but under different management. Long Beach was still a Navy town back then. I was too young to go there, but people I worked with used to rave about the place. I imagine this is kind of what it must have sounded like.

Most of them are praising Hitler and his military plans (that all ended up failing lol) and lots of songs about getting together with girls which also made sense because Himmler wanted the German race to pump out as many pale blondies as possible to settle in Poland In hindsight lots of art and music was streamlined to match with the idea of German racial superiority

There is one famous scene from "Cabaret", both stage play and 1972 movie, with nazi characters singing song "Tomorrow belongs to me", with folks around joining them. Supposed to be in german, it's in english for the audience purpose. And it works. It's catchy. It's inspiring. Invokes something inside, that tells you to join them, at song and at their cause. Makes you understand, that propaganda guys back there, knew exactly what they were doing. I suggest one to look the scene up on yt, movie did it nice.

@@007arek The USSR killed roughly the same if not more people than Germany before the Nazis even took power. The USA put Japanese people in concentration camps. While there weren't any "official" murders in these camps, the USA had the luxury of not having their supply lines destroyed unlike the Germans, which explains why this didn't happen here. The USA also killed 100,000 German civilians with the firebombing of Dresdon, which wasn't even a military target. Nobody cares about these attrocities since they were done by the victors. The victors really do write history, and they also amplify any sort of wrongdoing done by the loser. The loser also gets absolutely no legitimate defense to explain themselves. The Nuremburg trials were nothing more than Soviet Style kangaroo courts which violated all that the USA and Britain stood for with their traditional courts.

You know, listening to this made me have an idea, I want an anime where the whole plot is just an anime girl in 1940s Germany. It doesn't need to have any dark or graphic stuff in it or any other anime tropes. Just an anime where everything is surreal and chill. Just beautiful scenery of Germany, from the streets to the countryside. So, a little similar to Frieren. Just invoking a sense of nostalgia and calmness. Following the daily life of an anime girl going to work(maybe a radio station) and just going about her life. I feel like we don't get those types of stuff often. Maybe I just haven't discovered any. Either way though, the idea of an anime girl in nazi Germany has been in my head for a while now. Not in a sick and twisted way or anything. Just an exploration of the time, the environment, and the life of a normal person.

Never thought a music compliation with an anime thumbnail would drive the piss in my eyes, my grandma died 9th of may last year at age 96, her stories of growing up in this regime were dreading yet unbelievably fascinating, such a tough humble and down to the ground woman that never forgot how to smile and sing, enjoying those little moments of silence throughout this madness of terror hunger and insecurity about the future Danke dafür echt heul hier grad wie der letzte Penner

@@josef1391 who the fuck doesn’t let you remember your grandma? You come here talking about Jews and the holocaust while everybody else is just vibing, honestly if you can spit your bullshit ass stories I think you’re pretty free. This song LITERALLY has nothing to do with the holocaust, this is a radio programme for the Wehrmacht. What is your problem? You just had to throw in Jews at random where they are not relevant, you are the scum, not me. Grow up.
