@tickle500 This method is meant to be something followed for rocking your curls. There are styles you can wear that dont involve twisting first, so you can do more than just wash-n-go. But I still wear my hair in twist outs and other styles, I also use a tangle teezer in addition to my fingers sometimes if I feel my hair needs more detangling than what my fingers can do. So you can take what will work for you from the method, and what doesn't work - just do what does work for you!

Love the shape and color. I made an app't to get my hair done at Devachan. I have a lot of heat damage in the front of my hair.

They are much easier to style. I just get bored with it sometimes, but its a go to, quick, easy and effortless like you said

Yes it is! I'm still loving the cut, but I'm ready for some growth. I don't always like to wear my hair in my face like that, so I'm kinda over that part - once it grows out more I think I'll be able to wear my side part again :o) Besides that, my hair is happy!

@101Corkscrews No they didn't, but I might try that! Thanks for the tip!

u are so correct when you said other cultures embrace our hair textures. if I wear my hair curly they love it and want to touch it..when I fro it out I get comments like " I love your hair"...but our people say things different like "you need a relaxer"..

@Sbowles29 yes I experience that somewhat on the temple areas, but I noticed now it does define a little more now that the moisture level has built up. But the coils are soooo tiny there that its still hard to see the definition.

I have been debating about going to a salon here in Atlanta that has the Deva certified stylists because my hair is so much more "kinkier" than all the models I have seen and I was just concerned they wouldn't know how to style my hair. After seeing your video I am more inpired to give it a shot because I think your hair is quite similar to mine. I think I'm going to go for it! Thanks so much for sharing. :)

@LuvnDaNaturalMe They definitely would! I'm surprised that the sections on my head that have 4c texture that used to have no definition, now have curl definition. Teeny tiny curls, but curls LOL

This was very informative!! I loved how you broke this down. Yes other people of different races, loves our hair!! I wouldn't mind going to this myself. OOOHH moisture is the trick, finger detangling is the key, I'm getting used to the detangling w/ fingers. So they says to retain length is to sit under a hair dryer, don't air dry? thanks so much.

I agree with you! I have natural kinky hair. My hair stylist is white and she has been doing my hair for about 7 years now. I have had very bad experiences with black stylist not knowing how to do natural hair. Whereas I can go to white stylist and they have not problem. This is VERY sad!! I live in Michigan and there is not a very big following for natural hair here, so that could be the problem.
@thickmadame7611 жыл бұрын
as a former stylist here in Texas...we are NOT trained in black hair other than a roller set, JERRY CURLS ( yes they still teach that ) and relaxers...their motto is " hair is hair, its all the same..u cut it the same". I know that's not correct but this is what they teach..so when we get into the salons we are not ready..we would have to go to a major city to learn how to care for our hair. a natural stylist...that's another topic. love your vid

Thanks that's a good video. I always wanted to try their line of products. it is very expensive and living in UK made it more expensive because of postage. I have the Curly Girl book. Which make sense. Thanks for sharing. is it possible to list all the products they use for your hair?

@Naturallyglamtv, can u provide the address and name of the salon. I hope i am not being redundant if u already answered this question. I would like to get a deva cut and also inquired about their classes. I am a hair stylist and I have been unable 2 locate any place n my area that teaches this technique. Thank u for the wonderful video, it was very informative and I agree with everything you said on the salon tip, thats why I no longer do hair in the salon setting. I am about healthy hair

Your public service announcement was POINT ON. You spoke the truth. There is a definite disconnection when it comes to certain hair stylist. It is sad that we have to go to a different ethnicity to learn how to embrace our hair.

Do you feel as though this method limits your hair to one style? I love twists, twist outs and flat twist and I don't see how to finger comb my hair and then twist my hair. Also, if they recommend not combing your hair how can you achieve various styles? If you get what I'm saying I would appreciate anyones advice. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the response! I've been following since Jan this year. Your hair texture seems very similar to mine. I find that my roots, especially around my front edges are still not defining well...they remain puffy no matter how much conditioner I use. Have you experienced this with any areas of your hair?

I have a few questions that I hope you don't mind me asking. They washed, conditioned (under the dryer), and diffused your hair correct? Did she put products besides conditioner in your hair and such as gel or anything before she cut it? Did she cut your hair dry? I am out of the country and am trying to find someone here to cut my hair and would like to show them your video. I'm so desperate...it has NO STYLE. Again, looking for someone to get in this head in Skopje, Macedonia and i'm so scared. I want to arm them with as much information as possible....Oh, did you purchase the diffuser?
