What I'm stating is backed up by the law of physics: relieving any type of hair of length increases volume because it decreases the weight of the strand. And btw, the lady in this vid doesn't have type 4 hair.

@SherineHearts They claim to work with all hair types, even straight. I want to get my hair done at Devachan salon too. I guess I'll see New York soon.

The pin curl clips make no sense and create additional work each time the hair is wet. The best way to get more volume in the crown is to simply cut shorter layers in that area. Shorter hair ways less and allows curls to spring up more.

CheezInspector I didn't think it was possible to see that much ignorance in one comment. Cutting short layers will change the shape, if you cut the layers too short, you get a disconnected hair cut. If you knew a think about hair, you'd know the difference between the disulphide and hydrogen bonds. The clips play on the hydrogen bonds which sets the hair in the raised shape of the clip, some people(me) have forever fiat hair dye to my hair growing towards my hair, I've had my hair shaved several times and now it's past shoulder, I had the least volume when it was short, my hair curls towards my head. The pincurl clips raise the hair. Go and get a cosmetology licence/level 2&3 hairdressing or whatever you have in your country

I went to Devachan for my hair cut. I have kinky hair and all they did for me was a wash and go. They cut around my hair as if afraid to go in &cut more hair. So I was still left with some split ends. The cut was over $100 and they added 3 of there products. I feel so dumb for buying them. I should of said no. these are not products for 4a and higher hair. And since I was the last customer they rushed me out. Such a disappointment.

I want to get my hair cut but I don't trust, salons to cut off only what I say. They go scissor happy. Like Edward scissor hands.

Um, it's not theoretical. I just described the actual physics involved. Go back and re-read what I read. Also, your pseudo-scientific psycho babble is amusing. And yes, of course she doesn't have hair that's in the 4 range (that's why I stated such).
