I have used it a few times but never consistently also because it was too expensive for me! So I didn’t buy much of it. But I did notice negative effects after using it only just a couple of times! Only once or twice and it was no good! Be careful beautiful ladies do not use devacurl ever again! Throw it in the garbage can!

Omg I know exactly how you feel. My hair felt so damaged yet I havent used heat on my hair in YEARS. My hairline is so thin and my hair had a layer of frizz that would be constantly dry and stick out from the rest of my "curls". The crazy part was I wasnt even using Deva Curl, it was Eco Styler gel that was messing me up! If it wasnt for all these Deva Curls videos coming out, I would probably still be using the gel and just thinking "I have bad hair and I have to accept it". Ive now started making my own flaxseed gel and its gotten SO much better. I hope you'll also be able to recover, this really sucks that this is happening to people.

Giovanna Vignoni interesting that you had problems with eco styler gel. I am having all of these diva curl symptoms and I’ve been using Shea moisture products, exclusively. Never used diva curl. Is the whole industry messed up?

Wow!!! I am just finding out!! No wonder my hair has been breaking off and lifeless for almost 2 years!! All I used was the gel and hair mask. Wow!!! I am pissed. I was going crazy and throwing all my other hair products away. Girl I have the same issue too. I just touch my hair and it sheds too. I literally have to vacuum my bedroom floor twice a day cause of all the breaking and shedding! 😱😱

I'm Mexican and in my country you can't find these products. I looked for them online and the only way to buy them was through Amazon. But they were really expensive for me. I decided to save some money to buy them, but you know how it is. Other stuff happened and I couldn't save it. So I handle with the products available in Mexico. I'm so grateful right now I didn't have the chance to use them. The best of lucks and soon recovery.

Aloe leaf, avacodo, and Olive oil or coconut oil... Make a mask to put on your hair and sit for about an hour then rinse... Shampoo... It will heal your scalp

Just found all this stuff on deva curl... I had used NoPoo for years (in rotation with other products), but I switched to the curlsmith co-wash several months ago because I like to switch it up. Glad I did! If you’re looking for a good range of products for curls, try looking into them. I really like the hair serum they have too. My hair has never been softer or healthier. I’m so sorry this happened to you ❤️

Never buy salon products at these stores mentioned they at called diverted products. Salon products , which it says on the bottle, are never guaranteed to be real unless bought from a salon which means if you aren’t standing in a place where someone is getting a hair service aka haircut you shouldn’t be buying a salon product where you are bc it is not guaranteed to be real product in the bottles!!!! Wake up people

I feel like you: I'm very afraid to use anything else. I've been using this brand consistently since at least 2013 (though I think it might have been earlier than that). I just feel like, how can I trust any brand? I lost so much hair; wasted so much money on products and going to the doctor to find out what is wrong with me. ugh.

Start doin hot oil treatments with black castor oil.... I also did the aphogee 2 step treatment that helped. Also, kinky curly makes a good shampoo for curls.... otherwise eden body works makes a really nice co wash.... good luck to you and your healing journey...

Look out for the ingredients Phenoxyethanol and Diazolidinyl Urea. Yes, Devacurl has it as well as tons of other brands. Check out Innersense hair care. Good luck girl👍

I ruined my hair by using Organix Hair Products. I know how you feel. I lost a lot of hair. My hair and scalp were coated and dry. I think many companies just use cheap ingredients and don’t care about their customers. I had to cut a lot of my hair off. I had scalp problems too. It’s been 8 years since I used those products. I won’t go near that brand ever again.

I went and warned all of my friends and family. That is so upsetting. Your poor scalp looks like it is hurting too. There is a lot of recommendations for shampoos and hair products to help but honestly I think you should be treating this almost like an injury. A girlfriend of mine used apple cider vinegar in a scalp rinse (There is tutorials online) to help unbearable itching when she left bleach in for a long time and burned her scalp. Maybe that will offer you some relief.

I wish I was a pro and could tell you exactly what will help you recover. I'm so sorry this is happening to you and the thousands of others. It will take time to grow it back out, but you will recover and your hair will be majestic again. ❤️ Please reach out to pro's (stylist/dermatologist) who have dealt with other ppl with devadamage. The curly community will figure this out and a deva recovery routine will pop up soon I'm sure.

I loved my Deva cut, but I noticed after my first cut that my hair felt sooooo dry within 3 hours of getting it done. Although I bought the products, I could never stick to them for long b/c my hair felt like straw the same day I washed it! So luckily I stopped using it relatively quickly. But I feel ya.

I just had the whole deva cut experience. Didn't care for the product. By time I got home which took me 1 hour my hair was dry. I washed it out right away. Now I'm on the watch...

This is why I no longer use store brought shampoo and conditioner on my hair. Rosemary oil ,Apple cider and vinegar is the was to go!

In 2015 I starting following Mahogany curls on KZbin she promoted Diva Curl products to the max, she advised not to use any shampoo on the hair but to only co-wash, she did this for years, but now she use shampoo.. I like a fool purchased Diva Curl, it was waaaay too expensive and a sub-standard quality product, it was so bad I ended up trashing it. Some KZbinr's promote what they are paid to promote. Old school shampoo and conditioner will work just fine.

Baby shampoo is the best- babo and puracy - I also use babo baby extra sensitive sunscreen. They don’t fuck around with formulas for babies but formulas for adults they’ll put the whole junkyard juice in there.

So sorry. Believe you me I went through this with the Shea moisture line. My dermatologist said I had unknown alopecia not knowing the culprit that caused it was Shea moisture products. I don’t trust any brand whatsoever. I have to do extensive research on anything I buy now. I’m not taking any chances.

Pink Pink yes I did. My hair grew out but at a very slow rate. I discovered peppermint essential oil and that changed it all for me. My scalp is still a little sensitive in those areas I had alopecia.

You shouldn't brush your hair. Use only a very wide tooth comb when you have a curl.

i went to a salon an started using a sulfate to get rid of the buildup i also have been deep conditioning it seems like its helping i am off deva curl for 20 days an i am still having fall out just like that

Yes I’ve started using a sulfate shampoo as well to get rid of the buildup and it’s a HUGE difference! The amount of hair I’ve been losing has changed drastically as well. I’m going to film an update soon.

let me first say am very sorry for your hair issue's that your having!!! You should not Bushing curley hair especially when dry .sounds like you have a build up from using deva curl for a long time did you know you should be using a cleansing shampoo in between wile useing diva curl so your scalp could breath if a cleaner does not leather it going cause a build up we need to use a sudsing shampoo from time to time so the scalp is really clean and products could pinatrat their is nothing in deva curl tha could case hair loss !!

This is awful! You spend all this time dedicated to caring for your curls and end up with dry damaged hair/scalp, I'm a hair stylist (who also has curls) but luckily have never used this product. Your hair will recover but its distressing nonetheless, a good product (imo) is Hallelujah hair oil, 100% natural and organic, can be used as leave in or as a conditioning mask, it's not too expensive and lasts forever, hope everything works out for you.

Devin Lockhart yes as I mentioned in the previous comment I usually don’t use these hair ties. At the moment it was all I had.
