Yes, in India. And probably the highest population of lions is found in India only and they are found in Gir forest in Gujarat. We were very excited about this trip. Devaliya Safari park which is an eco-tourism zone and private park nearby to Gir. Its main purpose was to reduce the tourist load from Gir Forest. We did a bus safari here for INR 150 per person check more details in the video.
Gir national park is located between Junagadh and Somnath, Comes in Amreli District, spread in 1153 square Kilometers
There are many species that stay in the sanctuary but mainly there are Asiatic Lion, Fox, Neel gay, and many birds.
Besides Africa, Gir National Park in Gujarat is the only place in the world where you can spot lions roaming free in the wild. Gir National Park attracts a large number of tourists to witness the Asiatic lion, as this is the sole place all across the world where these creatures are presently found.
