FYI friend. A 30-30 has a 150 grain bullet. A 12 ga. Shotgun slug weighs 2 ounces. The 30-30 might get there quicker but a 2 oz. slug chugging along at 1400 fps will take the starch outta any critter, guaranteed!

It does look like it, though it has to be done. Feral Boars are an invasive species in many countries introduced by European colonists. If the termination of these boars does not occur in areas, then farmers that grow produce will be impacted greatly as these boars feed on crops. The argument of relocation of the farm could be imposed, though that would likely be costly and inefficient.

Say man try buckshot 12 gauge shut them down I guess you can use a 410 buckshot shut them down but you're probably going to need more than one shot if you don't shoot them in the proper spot it's supposed to be behind the shoulder and that'll be the heart and lungs the front shoulder but if they're running right at you that'd be between the eyes and try to shut them down and then put another bullet in there with some 410s one bullet

So you know most of these comments never hog hunting. Use a damn rifle? How? You really think we in Texas sit there, let dogs chase the pig out, and shoot him like you cowards do in north? No, we ride in ATV and UTV, drive and shoot with slugs. These boars can take up to 5x slugs with no issue charging you to death. They seldomly down with only one or two slugs. 223 is not sufficient or not effective at all if placement is not perfect. A 30 caliber riflr is not usable when driving or riding.
