Devastation On Cocos Island | SeaLegacy: The Voyage

Have you ever been out on the open ocean? In this episode, the SeaLegacy 1 departs The Bahamas for the Pacific Ocean, attempting to take on their longest open-ocean crossing yet.
As the SeaLegacy 1 navigates the daunting crossing, SeaLegacy lead storyteller and fellow Sony Artisan of Imagery, Andy Mann, arrives on Cocos Island in Costa Rica. Cocos Island is a key marine habitat of the Eastern Tropical Pacific, but protections there remain weak despite its biological significance. Andy's mission is to capture images highlighting the need for more comprehensive protection and document the important shark tagging effort of local scientists in the critical swim way that connects Cocos with the Galápagos Islands.
