Kim, I'm a birder. And am only now learning about photography. When I go out in the field, most times I catch a glimpse of a bird and quickly raise my 500mm lens to get the shot. I come away from the field "thinking" I have seen the bird, but little do I know, I don't really see the bird until I look at the images I create. Who knew this little bird had a patch of yellow right by his eye? Or whiskers along his beak? We see things through photography that our split-second view of nature hardly ever captures. Thanks for this video!

Herb Robert is the little purple flower at the beginning. I used to wonder what you were talking about with connecting with the subject etc.. yesterday I went out to photograph butterflies.
