This basic idea can be doubled simply by changing the hands... meaning - once you learn how to "automate" the left hand to free the right one - simply flip the practice routine around, so you play the "automated" part in the right hand and solo with the left... It takes some work though because the way we number our fingers (1=thumb to 5=pinky) fans from the inside out, whereas the way the keyboard is numbered simply rises in a sequential straight line... its hard to describe, which is why it takes work, but you can sense it when you play.
@williamkidwell15048 жыл бұрын
perhaps the difficulty in flipping the hands is better stated by contemplating what finger *leads* the automated rhythm in one hand vs the other... if the pinky (5) leads with the low note in the bass followed by the octave on the thumb (1), then to automate this in the right hand you'll have to lead with the thumb (1) followed by a rise to the pinky (5) to play the octave... Because the finger numberings are so contrary, it may be better to just identify the lead note and hit it with the opposing finger from hand to hand... anyway... $.02

It's funny because tapping without the piano notes only confused my brain but doing this whilst playing the notes at the same time was easy lol. I've been playing for about ten years but I really want to be much better at piano xD And after actually watching this video I realized that my left and right hands are more independent than I thought lol. I can play more than 4 notes whilst my left hand keeps playing two xD I went one further and kept playing C and G over and over whilst going up and down the scale from C to C. I think I'll do that every day now lol.

Curious how does left and right hand work on violin or guitar?
@glenrose79258 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of independence action but "generally" not as much as on the piano.
@UnsuspectingCommenterPassingBy7 жыл бұрын
John Brothers It's not really hard tbh, the level of independence needed is more simple and intuitive, while piano is like trying to play a solo with a two neck guitar, one with each hand at the same time.

i have this really important question . does it count as independence when i create a pattern in my mind for the finger coordination ?? like ( one left finger times with three right fingers , and so on ) . it makes it possible for me .
@glenrose79258 жыл бұрын
Definitely. I do the same thing all the time while moving about during the day. Rhythms in your mind. It's a little like meditation actually.....I think so anyway.
