At 8:22 Why do we need to scan the file path to make files visible to another apps? Isn't that should be a default thing? So, according to this, If I add picture to shared folder, and don't scan the file path, then the picture is private?

Its little messy, the storage access in Android cannot get more convoluted. This is just one more layer on compatibility stack that devs have to take care of.
