Are variables GLOBAL or LOCAL in Zoho? If I need to have a variable to stay visible for the entire user session regardless of what Zoho App is being used, how is that accomplished ?

Variables are local. To use a variable globally, store it in a form e.g. global_var and fetch it when you need it. Hope this helps.
