Development of the UC Davis Track-in-a-Box for Racehorse Track Surface Evaluation

This video shows the development of the Track-in-a-Box at the J.D. Wheat Veterinary Orthopedic Research Laboratory, or VORL, at the University of California, Davis. The Track-in-a-Box was developed to enable testing of Thoroughbred racehorse racetrack surfaces in a controlled, laboratory environment.
This video was developed and narrated by Jacob Setterbo, PhD, former graduate student at VORL at UC Davis. Interesting test box. Most do not understand the root cause of the snow plow effect that is the root cause of injury...there is a need to better simulate the correct versus lame movement of the horse.
